with "just go crazy" i mean that some of these can't be handeled properly any more. keith explained it perfectly, i think.
don't gt me wrong, i like working line dogs...i have seen perfect ones, strong drive but still able to learn something too.
that's how i want any dog to be like, no matter if show or working line.
here is a quotation from a policeman i know which i find very suitable:
"THERE ARE ONLY GOOD DOGS AND BAD DOGS"
for me it means that you shouldn't be prejudiced against either working lines or show lines. bur unfortunately this is the case
in some training clubs.....

For me there are no bad Dogs just a lot of stupid Owners of all breeds who do not think what they are doing in the up bringing of a Pup and from then on
A Dog is what you make it in terms of Human intereaction, But Working ability you can nuture but not put it there if it does not have it, Last night i saw something which made me a little Angry and i thought i will tell that fool before he gets bitten by his Dog but i was beaten to it, But the time will come when he will get bit, But who will suffer his Dog of Course, But if i tell him and i am not diplomatic in when i do it probably will cause a bit of trouble and that we do not want at the Club, Should he continue with what he is doing then i will take him to one side away from people and tell him then

They meet on Saturdays and it is a 325 mile trip 1 way (closest I could find). But worth it to just get at least an evaluation.
Again Thanks,

Sorry, I don't get that at all. Sounds totally silly.
"There are good days and there are bad days; this is obviously one of them."

Bless your pea picken heart, you are right but in a strange way. A
German, GSD breeder will breed what they call hard and soft lines.
Soft lines are not weak line they are considered more stable working lines.
But it does not have anything necessarily to do with conformation. Only
personality. Germans for years bred hard males to soft bitches, until
about the 70's. They switched over and started breeding Very stable males
to some crazy ass bitches. They got some very good dogs from these
breeding's. But I would say now it's a crap shoot. Everybody is breeding
a mix of hard and soft rather than sticking to the old game plan, which is
try to breed the most stable male you can find to the toughest bitches.

A dog by the name of Sergio von Angerholtz,
was very hard dog his mother was heavily
line bred off DDR line only. He produced
4 V rated show dogs. But he was 100%
working dog. His grand son was Buck von
der Pfalz, the best working German Shepherd I have ever seen.
Even with dumb, stupid training Buck won the National USA, and
was second at the WUSV championship.
Buck could be in a station waggon full of screaming little kids going
down the road and be as happy as a bug in a rug. But on the field
he was truly the prince of Darkness. Sadly he never reproduced himself.
One of Gods ironies. Buck was the best, his grandfather Sergio was a
breeding of a stable male to a very hard bitch. Old school breeding now.
