ok so yes im a newbie to importing dogs lol, just trying to find out how long it takes to get paperwork from serbia to the usa. the seller has been promising me the necessary documents since i bought and paid for her 5-26-17. I recieved her about three weeks ago. does he have to do anything other than just send it to me? I am trying to get her registered here with the akc-- thanks in advance for any input/help

also is there any database that lists owners of registered dogs?

When I see the country "Serbia" and "no registration papers", red lights immediately start to flash. It is a very poor country, and unfortunately, likely for that reason, there are a LOT of scammers breeding dogs.

I do hope he comes through for you. Getting the dog registered with AKC is not a quick process, but as far as I know, all you need is the dog's registration papers, with the change of ownership section signed by the breeder.

Yes, there should be a registry in Serbia that lists the breeder and his dogs. Maybe one of the pedigree mods can tell you how to contact the registry.

If everything is OK I would say they could come 6 weeks to 6 months after you got your dog.

Did you buy your dog from an AD run here if so who did you get her from

what was the sellers user name on the Ad

what was the name of your dog on the AD and what was the title of the AD.

The breed book for Serbia is JR and quite a few of their dogs get registered with the SV, so you might be able to find the dog on the SV database, which might also list the breeder. Tell me the name of the sire/dam of the dog and I'll check the SV database for you. I also might be able to tell from the kennel name.

the breeder in serbia has to apply to the serbian kennel club for an export pedigree. the female i bought for serbia came with the export papers. the male from bulgaria i waited 11 months for his papers and then they were wrong and , and, and!!! good luck

So assuming the seller doesnt make good on his "guarantee" (all of his previous promises were broken) of me having the papers by 7-14-17 is there any process one can go through with the respective kennel club (in my case Serbia) to get the papers? I have the front copy of her papers as well as all of our communication regarding the sale, price him receiving payment etc
