Anyone do Agility with your Labs? I plan on doing Agility and conformation with Magnum(Craven's Black Magnum).

I have been working with my one year old female Golden Lab in agility since April of 2007 and she LOVES IT!! Her brain is challenged to try all sorts of new things. I went and watched a trial last Sunday and made the comment to our trainer that I was surprised at how few labs there were. Her response was "and it is such a shame." I agree!  I wouldn't change a thing and am looking forward to her first trial sometime next year.

Hi,

My Lab, Charlie has been training in agility ever since he was 7 months old! He's now 4 and he's really kicking!! The only problem in trials is that they have to compete with Border Collies and that's not simple since speed is absolutely required and Borders excell on that. In any case Charlie has a lot of fun and it keeps him busy and fit and I'm happy.

My Labs love love LOVE agility and they are great at it. Border collies are no match for these whiz kids ;). The key to success in agility with a lab is to keep it fun, reward often in training, and keep them fit - unfortunately, most of the labs I see in agility are overweight and as a result, they do not reach their full potential.
