I thought this was interesting...they say the chunk is the size of Manhattan and this is the second massive calving off of the Petermann Glacier in two years.

So is there a picture of the iceberg itself? Wonder what they'll name it, it'll be around a while. Wish it'd get down here and cool things down.

Click on the first link, it shows it breaking off in a series of three pictures.... it is so huge the only way to see the whole thing is a satellite picture. I guess it just happened yesterday. I know! our pool water was getting almost too warm....had some rain and

This shows mankind is in for troubles. Twice the size of manhattan? Well, it'll only cause a negligable volume of sea rise in coastal areas, but only if it drifts southwards were it'll melt rapidly. This is global warmimg for real.

The wheels of a big ol' airliner sinking into the melting tarmac on the runway is just ordinary,nothing to do with climate change....yeah sure.

Same one that still claims it's fake...GOP. My brother lives in Washington state and is republican, every time I talk to him and I mention how hot it is, he says it's just "a heat wave". Repubs also don't believe evolution is real. So, they want to eliminate department of education....

ggturner, you are the exception, I thought the repub party leaders claim that climate change ( gw) is voodoo science or something like that. Doesn't mean all the people think that way.
