Bea's xray reports : VG.7 Aubernee Bea Bühle für Lorelei
Bea's xrays were taken 3 days short of 13 months. Her joints were scored by the NZVA. To see the actual aspect scores on the scans my vet supplied, you'll probably need to use [Ctrl] [ + ] to enlarge the display, or download the photo so that you can see it at full A4 size.
HIPS:
At the start of 2014 the NZVA switched to the PennHIP system, but in 2013 it used the BIF-scoring scheme developed by the Breed Improvement Foundation in Britain, and now used by the BVA, AVA and GSDCAustralia. It measures 9 aspects per hip, converting 16 of them to a 0-to-6 score, the other 2 to a 0-to-5 score, giving 53 : 53 as the worst possible lateral totals and 106 as the worst possible combined total.
NZ's GSD average is 11½ total, Australia's is close to 14 total, Britain's is about 18 total.
ELBOWS:
All nations use the 0-to-3-per-elbow system developed in Australia, but we DownUnderers have since added a couple of "half-steps" to it:
NZ : 0 B 1a 1B 2 3
Oz : 0 0.5 1 1.5 2 3
