Stella was put to sleep on April 22nd of 2009. She was an incredible dog with a zest for life, but she could not get herself to her water bowl any longer and wanted to go on walks so badly it was such a horrendous suffering I was seeing. This should not happen to ANY dog, born out of nobility like she was or mutt dog. Degenerative Myelopathy is a disease we now can breed out of our dogs and we HAVE to as breeders take action. The test has been available through the OFA for a year now (since aug 08) and still I can not find another breeder to join me!!! Please breeders do this for our dogs and their people!!! and buyers PLEASE demand from your breeders that they test for DM!!!

November, to the attention of people who own pups out of V19 bszs Stella vom Trompetersprung who likely purchased pups from precision shepherds of Ontario, Canada.

Stella was diagnosed with not only spondylosis upon her arrival here, but after the DM test became available she tested AT RISK for Degenerative Myelopathy. She has severe signs of DM and will likely not make it past the age of 8 and some months.

I believe this was genetically passed to her via her mother VA Oduscha vd Wienerau who was put to sleep also at an early age and her then owner would not reveal to me what it was she died of. (Christian Ziegler)

I highly recommend that those who own offspring of Oduscha or Stella that you test them for DM before considering putting them in a breeding program. You can order the test here> https://secure.offa.org/cart.html
