| SchH3 V Benno vom Bergertor SchH3 SZ/922452 Judge: Dr Werner Funk V2 Long Island Specialty, 1960. Benno v Bergator, surpassed the winner in smoothness of lines and harmony. He has not yet regained the condition in which he was shown at Karlsruhe. There he was as hard as iron , firm and dry, and with a perfectly even, well coordinated gait. In Long Island he was either tired - he is said to have been on a whole string of show circuits - or he is not yet fully used to his new environment. I was hesitant as to which of the two males I should place first, and Finally decided to give dryness, stability and firmness the preference. I am not at all sure that these two dogs will always be placed in this order. I could very well imagine, yes, I am even quite certain, that Benno, when in good condition and fully acclimated would be in first place.
