Depending on what insurance, if any, would cover, and what a good vet recommends. Maybe a one-time consult with a specialist, but I don't know if I'd go to a reproductive specialist or an endocrinology specialist or something else (the regular vet would need to advise and probably refer). No idea if there's such a thing as a reproductive endocrinology specialist. Or maybe a check with a good vet, or maybe only if there's any more bleeding or any other symptoms. No idea if any of the vets or which kinds would do blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, other scans, or???

Maybe there's a good veterinary school that would be free or inexpensive close by. This can be a double-edged sword. Care could be excellent, good, or bad, even with close supervision of students.

Unfortunately, finances can sometimes drive what can or should be done :-(

Whether the dog would suffer much from the testing, and whether treatment would happen if something were found are other considerations. Vet can advise.

Hopefully, this is something that will resolve (or already has) without anything more, but there are many possible causes of post-spay vaginal bleeding in addition to what I posted here and in my other post.

I'm not a vet, so not veterinary advice. Etc.

The best local Vet, one with whom I had a good 121 relationship when my dogs were with his practice, and really trusted, has retired. Nobody else obvious springs to mind to ask for a 2nd opinion ! I don't really have anything (else) to worry me about the current vets. Vet hospital quite a journey from here, and currently too hot to do that sort of travelling with a dog.

Insurance issues notwithstanding, I would not fail to pursue this if Keera shows any sign of being unwell; if she continues fit & bouncy and there are no more bleeds I don't think I'll be doing more to investigate, don't see a need to put her through that stress.

Will however keep an open eye for further information online etc on the whole ovariectomy development.

Thanks again.
