Any Products to Stop Sod/Grass/Dirt Eating? - Page 2

I don’t have grazers, but periodic nibblers. I see grass in the stool at times, or even spit up. Well exercised, well fed dogs…I would think. I’m not so sure a nutritional deficiency is the cause of their grass eating, but maybe a digestive aid? Recently I added fresh avocado to the food. We'll see.

Thanks again for the feedback. I do believe the dogs have a balanced diet and plenty of exercise. Regarding Jillmissal's comment regarding grass eating in spring...yes they do tend to do most of their damage this time of year.
They also focus the grazing on one area of the lawn...which is where they tend to lay down and relax. My feeling is while laying there, they pick up the saliva scent of previous grazing and start again...Just a guess. Probably not a lot I can do as noted earlier other than fence that area off and see what happens.

I've heard so many say that if a dog eats grass its always a sign of stress, a stomach problem, boredom, or poor diet. It could be one of these things but most dogs I've known to do it just seem to like to do it at times. Sometimes my dog eats grass while tracking; definitely not boredom, she almost always takes a few bites taking a walk around the stream on our farm, which is her favorite place on earth; so not anxiety or stress, dog has perfect bloodwork and her diet is better than mine so not poor diet or lack of nutrients. Though it sounds like your dogs are going a bit overboard tearing it down to the dirt so may not hurt to get your vet's input.
