@ apple just facts agree with you about working dogs

Belgium/French ring  dominated by malinois

KNPV = malinois

PSA= malinois

IPG= GSD /Malinois

Police K9 Holland/Belgium/France/Germany by far dominated by malinois  and the rest of the world is follow.

Even the Navy Seals in the USA  hard selection best of the rest work most of all with the X  malinois from Holland  ask Mike Suttle who bought 100,s of dogs for your  Navy SEALS  in Holland

Some other people stay in their own religion nothing wrong with that

@ Valk now we go to the real world this is also a KNPV dog sold to US police if we talking about men stoppers no sport. X Dutch Shepherd Puskas BRN 23264

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCO8JAKfQ1k

So those exercises in KNPV  are NOT just for circus  attack was very unlucky he hits a curb dog broke his teeth and his jaw but stays in te fight even @9 years old

BM, That dog, Puskas, just retired at the age of 10, I was reading about it last night. ,

Valk, I am not talking about being a decoy or a helper, but, now I understand....It works different on the street.

BM, I believe I read last night that his handler had him for 5 years, he retired at age 10, which makes sense with what you just said about him working in Holland before he came here.

BlackMalinois
my point was about abilities of dog to sustain and win confrontation.
your second video just repeated first one. so what a difference other than surrounding environment? neither of case involves confrontation.

Hired Dog
you think so?

Valk, I know so. I also know that I would most certainly work Duco and well as that dog Evil on the street anytime, anyplace.
Now tell me, why do you think there are no confrontations, or, maybe very few between suspect and police dog?

Puskas car jacker was sentenced to 19 years recently.  Here is another video of the dog and handler.  It actually shows the point when the handler checks the dogs in the back of the patrol unit and notices his incisors are missing.   Hope that POS has to serve all 19.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCO8JAKfQ1k I am trying to follow the recent posts in this thread ...

Now don't get me wrong , I do not know this dog , but I comment on what I see in the video . I suspect, my feeling , is that this dog would/could handle any challenge to him . Having said that , as far as this video demonstrates ... I agree with Valk . In that specific video , there was absolutely no confrontation , threat or challenge to the dog . However it was a dynamic fleeing apprehension and take down by the dog. So , what is the point ? .. Real Man stoppers vs sport .. How different was that video making that point ? That video itself , no meaning the ability of the dog in totality , seemed no different than sport to me.... If there was something actually the dog had to worry about , more than a man just fleeing , then I think I would better understand the point. Just saying ..

That very puzzle shows up all the time, Centurian, comparing one video people put up on here to another. I think this just points up the limitations of video shorts; you really have to be there, almost every time, to judge what is happening with each dog and how good they are.
