I'd rather have a dog with Bernd in his pedigree, which I do, than not, but the problem is that around his time is when the SV's influence led to discarding such dogs and their genetics could have been so much more influential if their lines were continued. As for training, what I see with the working line people is that there are a lot of dedicated trainers, but the training and access to skilled decoys is poor. The result is they create the exact problems they are trying to avoid. Also, I think there are too many breeders in the U.S. who don't have a knowledgeable breeding program in which they create their own bloodlines resulting in haphazard breeding and lesser quality dogs.

What I can tell you so far. I like much better the handlers (women) than those dogs.
