The worlds gone mad.  I have just sat through that video clip and watched it all I should have had better things to do when I saw a puppy of 11 weeks being called and rewarded, and an E collar taking the credit !!!
I feel sure that most of us that have pups could put on a video the same without the "gadget".  What a pity that at 11 weeks there is some-one out there that CHOOSES to use gadgets for such a simple exercise.   I am disgusted, because I know full well that this will escalate to higher things in a very short time if it is started at 11 weeks.  I wonder if we will be seeing a video post when the dog is 7 months and being shocked into doing what the handler wishes him to do.   Lazy Training.   Just my opinion.   Mo.

Here's an opinion for you OP                     .  Do your puppy a huge favor, give it to someone who'll just let it be a puppy.  Let me guess, you're a "Certified Professional Dog Trainer".  As my friend Clint Eastwood would say, "Swell"

I have to agree with all of the above!  I got a six month old with no previous training, what I worked on with him was a relationship. Fun fun fun!!  Everytime I called him I had a ball and we played tug. Now at almost two, he has a lighting fast, completely reliable recall.

If you can't work on getting your puppy to want to come to you without introducing aversives, there is something fundamentally wrong with your relationship.

Not against e-collars. I did use the low stim method on my older, adopted, mixed breed to ensure reliable recalls - but this dog had missed out on early training and bonding to people, and was very independent by nature.

IMO this is barbaric,my 10 week old has immediate recall,no force used.

Guys, didn't Lief say it was like a pager collar,  just a vibration?  Okay, so my dog has excellent speedy recall and I've never used anything but positive for that, but a vibration collar is HARDLY barbaric!

No reason to use it if the dog is already completing the excersize... Just seems like it may ruin such a fine pup and confuse it especially when the button clicker cant keep up with the awesome puppy.
