Joan-
I really wish I could have seen your show!

by joanro on 15 November 2018 - 02:11

Thanks, Jessie.

I wish I had seen SRV....

Like so many great dogs...." He stopped in...gave us his heart and soul...then flew away." ( Gerald Brewer)

One of my favorite videos.

back to dogs.
looking for dog to mate her girl
sire of this girl active and proven LE dog. i stumbled upon him some time ago on YouTube and was quite impressed, very good dog and seems potent producer.
and yet, instead of continuity of his legacy, someone just want "black, long coat puppies".

shame, but that just what goes on in today's GSD develelopment.

here is video with 5 minutes test of that dog, posted 3 years ago

Joan-
We are on the same wavelength.

Valk-
I just looked at that Boy’s pedigree (the sire)...I don’t even want to know what happened to his ears. I’m afraid to ask. They were cut-off for some reason.

About the video of the sire - Certainly a nice dog. I really don’t quite understand why this should be so rare in the GS world. I truly feel that if I trained with my dog, and 2 guys in bite suits for one week, he could do similar.
I’m not tooting my horn, or my dogs horn. I think a lot of dogs could do this (just what I see in the vid.).
Many dogs are just not in a military or LE environment, so they don’t get noticed or trained like this.

I have seeen that dog before . I remember because of the cut ears. Looks like a good dog.

by Vito Andolini on 15 November 2018 - 03:11

Yeah, on my phone, I thought it was a female ovcharka because of the ears.

by duke1965 on 15 November 2018 - 03:11

prager, when you say :In my opinion, every dog who makes to Nationals is very good to exceptional

that might be so, as a sport prospect, but thats where it ends in my opinion, but thats an old discussion

furthermore, the guitar comparison is a tad off, because  in dogs we have a little more variables than in guitars, that the handler/player has to deal with

IMO there is not much you can see in that video that prooves the dog is LE material, with this trainer, or other, he is doing routine, and is not clean about it, if it was a showline dog, some people would say, that probably if made clean, not much would/could be left

NOT saying thats the case with this dog, but if a showline would show this, that would be explanation of some

.

what i did wrong this time?

I think a lot of dogs could do this (just what I see in the vid.)

but majority of dogs dont.
it's not about how dog been trained. rather about dog's spirit.
here is another video of that boy working in pair with another K9
