What a farce... seriously... I'd be embarrassed to show up with dogs like this.

BE, not all of them are "embarassing", some of them are pretty good - just watch all of them...

That´s what I really like about the BSZ, all dogs have to go through the same routine, and everybody who cares, is able to watch, and, more important, is able to make his breeding or buying decisions based on these performances.

The sad point - most people don´t care.

And as a spectator you are not only able to see the official bitework, but you are able to see the dogs prior to and after bitework ( a lot of stress: very loud noises, loudspeakers, hundreds of dogs, crowds of people, the dogs surrounded by new experiences - VERY interesting - only more interesting the official training sessions prior to the event - nobody who hasn´t been there will be able to understand the REAL stress factors ).

During the years I was able to see some "famous" working lines being very "impressed" by all of this - in my opinion one of the reasons why most workingline owners are not interested to participate. It´s not about the show rating, it´s about the bitework performance...

Just check out for every dog:

Who is the handler? ( experienced trainer?)
Who is the owner? ( international connections = money involved ? )
Where is the dog located?( Outside of Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, there is lack of training abilities )
What about the ratings prior to the Siegershow? ( the better the ratings, the bigger the will to participate )

Afterwards you will know much more.

I very much agree Susie. There is so much to take into consideration before judging the dog on these 2-3 minute videos. Based on everything you mentioned I was impressed by a handful or two of the dogs.
To add to the list you mentioned above, Helper work is also key. I felt that only 1 helper was truly good in catching and moving the dogs. You could also see the Helper (s) get "stunned" when a real good dog hit hard during the courage test. Lol.

Otherwise, I'm enjoying these videos!

THANK YOU Irina!
