Depends which "business" you want to concentrate on. I have often wondered how US "professional handlers" manage to be winnebagoing it all round the country taking half a dozen dogs to Shows yet still have litters on the ground wherever their home base is.

I live in upstate NY and around here we basicly have our county, or tri county kennel club.
They do quite a it on the state level dog shows. They also are a multi breed club, which is nice.
We have a rather big little dog show in town every year where people come from through out the country with a variety of breeds.
I'll tell you, everyone looks like they having great time, dogs included.
