ShirosOhana

I thank you all for the information. I was just curious since I have never had a male before and was not sure on the process. To everyone that mentioned the OFA's I had them done at a vets office about two days ago and she sent them off for me. I didn't know they had to be at a certain age, Our vet never mentioned that to me so I went ahead and did them. And the kennel that was interested in having him has had him in their training classes and just threw the idea at me, nothing was set in stone about him. But I that's why I came here for information. We were thinking about getting him neutered in a couple months anyways since we just bought him as a pet. We love him and we just want to do what's best for him. I have never been a breeder and have always been against backyard breeding and to anything that thinks I would allow him to breed to another dog or to a kennel that would not take responsibility for his puppies is crazy.

But no hard feelings, I thank everyone for the insight. We will most likely not allow him to breed, we bought the big goober as a pet anyways.

Thank you Susie. I don't want to people think I only care about breeding him cause that was never my intention. I love him and I hope no one thinks badly of the kennel either for offering him to sire a litter. They are a wonderful kennel with beautiful dogs and they have wonderful people working there. We bought him a pet (even though we have full registration and breeding rights) I have never been into breeding animals which is why I came here to get honest answers. Which I greatly appreciate. It does kind of hurt my feelings that so many people jumped down my throat about him and his OFA's. I didn't know there was an age limit. and the Vet failed to inform that there was an age limit. He was tested for other diseases and had his blood tested, thyroid, blood sugar...etc. Just in case we decided too.

I hope no one thinks badly about me or the kennel.

I don´t think so, you ASKED, that said you tried to inform yourself PRIOR to breeding, that´s a lot more than most people do.

We just have seen too many breedings that never should have happened, and after a while people become testy, because they don´t want to repeat the same over and over again.

But for you it´s new stuff - we just forgot -
Kind regards
