'Studding out' a dog does not a breeder make. Vk, with all your cow/ calf beef operation experience, it would seem you would know that a person who lets you use their bull on your cows does not make him the breeder of your 'crop' of calves. Same goes for dogs; the owner of the female at the time of whelping is the 'breeder'.

Joan, Joan, Joan....you should know by now, anti-breeder rhetoric handbook says anyone in possession of an intact animal is a "greeder" or "breeder." Otherwise, if you make distinctions like you're doing, the pieces don't fit when they go back and try to disparage "greeders." Since a totally uneducated (I prefer to think this as opposed to an untruthful person) owner of a male offered to use his male for breeding without any clue about the male himself, let alone breeding, he is in the same camp as you are, as a "breeder." It was kind of vk to say "breeder" as opposed to their more common term "greeder." That's all it takes- there is no difference, apparently, between someone who carefully plans litters with a purpose, dots the "i"s and crosses the "t"s, and the OP. You're welcome for explaining that to you.

With my very best Tucker Carlson, 'HUH!' , now I get it. Thank you, Jenni.

As for the op's dog, the pedigree is immaterial to me. Looks like nice dog and to judge him for his ancestors is ludicrous. If he is sound in every way, he is essentially what was used to develop this breed.

I didn't see the dog. I am only "judging" the fact that he is not the lines the OP stated, and that Kiesgsd saying so does not constitute libel/slander as purported.

by joanro on 11 January 2017 - 15:01

I only saw the pic on his pdb ped. Wasn't referring to you on that comment about the ped. Agree that an opinion per the ped is not slander. This whole thing is silly.

Hello. I still haven't found the supposed slander comment. The only thing I've seen is a comment made about another dog. I'm wondering if the OP means that dog and not Varicks? Maybe I overlooked it.

by beetree on 11 January 2017 - 15:01

Good grief. I agree with Joan, this whole thing is ridiculous. Has anyone ever paid for this advertised "stud" because of its ped? Please, if that person exists, come forward now! If there never was a profit to begin with, how can there be damages to collect?

Reilya,

These are the comments that sparked this tempest in a teapot, which show there is an order of events (pedigree and updated pedigree) and user comments. The OP thinks that the ped is worth some money. Even with, or without

Lord twice, six generations back, there is currently no real evidence of that.

Many thanks to mrdarcy and Fantom76 for listening to me and giving me some slack to find the connection between Verick to Lord.
To the rest of the commenters, you should take a lesson from the admins and get all the facts and not be lazy and just pile on.

As mrdarcy said, case closed.

V family: 'To the rest of the commenters, you should take a lesson from the admins and get all the facts and not be lazy and just pile on.'

I'm one of the 'commenters', I did not, however, 'pile on' and I'm certainly not 'lazy'.  So, from what I see in your comments per the title of this thred, looks to me like kiesgsd made a mistake because of lack of complete ped at the time, not slander.
Jmo.
