BlackMalinois

@ Duke any videos from some serious defense under pressure  work maybe I see it wrong but most of time
it is sleeve (with whip)sport/prey scenarios what I see. But this is in most part the market today...........

I did not see Duke's video post before I wrote mine, but I likewise have excellent feel for which lines/dogs will predominately produce sleeve suckers and which produce more balanced dogs for work. Dogs like Brong Fighter Fron who was excellent dog was very strong dog and has produced same in some of his progeny. He is sport dog that could have been excellent in other areas. But I can also name you some popular studs that most every progeny I have seen from them were big grip dogs but not balanced. There are definitely some good studs out there producing good strong balance, but my point is are the other type increasing ?

duke...were those some of the dogs you purchased?

There are enough good( balanced) GSD who are more anonymus

or the kennel is unknown by public

But some have not that fancy superstars or that over rated linebreeding in the pedigree
and most of times that don,t sell the puppies.............by all that experts in the world. who like to go that famous names from the past.

@ BW yes
@ BM these are test I do on new dogs, I dont train most of them as I sell green dogs, not trained dogs to LE, so we test environmental, drives, etc
secondly, my clients need balanced dogs, no preymonsters, but also no dogs without prey

Duke you are trying to make a buck, nothing wrong with that. My point was most sport people want a dog to take them as far a possible in their sport and train meticulously to that end.

Most of the internet PPD crowd train to make a sales video about 2/minutes long and tell everyone else how shit their dogs are.

The thing is the PPD crowd rarely if ever title dogs but rely on sport people to do all the hard work.

The PPD crowd are always buying titles to breed from while saying how shit titles are, it's pathetic.

by duke1965 on 08 December 2016 - 21:12

VK agree, sport people put endless time and effort in one dog, I dont , but I can guarantee you that today Titles and quality of dog are NOT related,

by vk4gsd on 08 December 2016 - 21:12

That cuts both ways, having no title does not guarantee a high quality dog either, in fact all things equal you are in a worse position with no title on dog or line.

Sport people are the only one's with enough organizational skills to organise a standardized working venue to test how various lines are throwing and what they bring to the table.

Without that structure as a reference point and pool to dip into the "real" dog crowd are out of business.

That is one heck of an excellent truth you just stated, vk4!
