If you’re not looking for an argument, I can explain to you in layman’s terms what I was getting at. Most people understood it, you clearly didn’t.

I said good things about the dog posted. There is definitely a way to deal with that type of dog and if it finds the right home, it does just fine in it. There is an extremely limited amount of homes for dogs like you and shawnicus have been describing, therefore, there are very few of them around. Those that are around, are generally never heard about because they’re not trainable and they can’t be out in public. I really don’t care if shawnicus decides to breed those types of dogs. You’re talking 6-10 dogs a year, maybe up to 30 if the kennel does get going, none of those dogs will ever make any kind of affect on the breed as a whole. IF…and a huge IF the puppies do come out aggressive like that and have the attributes that you guys have been talking about (handler aggression, no trainability, just pure aggression at anyone at anything)…I hope he finds the right homes for them. They’re extremely few and far between.

For those that are recommending Tiekerhook, look at who he’s using as a stud for all of his bitches right now. Anyone know who that dog produced? Probably the epitome of the dog you’re all railing against…

Your argument was that dog that tend to have more defense drive ( even of a very high variety ) are necessarily weak. This is so because defense is meant for self preservation and it is an evolutionary advantage to have flight as a part of this drive's behavior. By taking the alternate you argue that a high prey drive dog is necessarily stronger because it is harder to push him into defense..a domain in which the possibility of flight is increased.
My argument is that there is a subset of highly defensive dogs that will continue to be aggressive even when it is not in the dog's physical interest to continue. People have weighed in ( explicitly or implicitly ) that such dog's do exist. It is anyone's prerogative to like such dogs, and your word is not any kind of finality.

If I believed dogs balanced in defense were weak...I wouldn't have praised Wum the way I did. Do you even read posts or do you just see who's posting and make up your own words that they're writing?
