It isn't hanging onto coat tails anymore - it is hanging onto dog tails(tales). Don't tell me what Jiri did tell me what you have done.

BV
if it would help the understanding..the dam is also reverse masked and very aggressive; I believe she works as an active patrol dog in one of the Southern States.
Did she get her reverse make and aggressiveness from Ex/Lord too?

by gsdstudent on 01 July 2016 - 19:07

i believe the ''aggressiveness'' is just a behavior masking fear, created and fostered by owner. the masking behavior has nothing to do with the facial mask.

can we get 50 pages?

Mithuna, this may be difficult to understand, but aggression may be the result of dominance/maybe unsocial behavior or the result of insecure/unstable behavior.
As far as I believe to read out of your posts, that´s what you are not sure about, too, but I may be wrong.

Right now none of us knows the truth, and without seeing your dog´s behavior we will never know.

My point to BV was why don" t we get Chihuahuas when we breed to GSD's ? It is obvious that " Germanshepherdness " is transmitted and constrained by genetics. So if color and all aspects of phenotype are clearly inherited, give a LOGICAL reason why this cannot also be true for temperament tendency?
I know many people who do random sh*%$ with their dogs and the dogs NEVER become aggressive. Presently at our club there is a lady with a SL GSD and for more than 6 months they have been trying to get that dog to bite and it has not happened.

I only can hope your team has the same results as the show dog you mention above. I only hope that nothing happens with your dog. If I ever get a chance to witness your dog and you, I can only imagine  telling you to control your ward and stop all bite training.

Mithuna, it has already been established that your dog is both reverse masked & aggressive. It really doesn't matter from whom she has got these to determine what your future course of action will be regarding her training. Your forthcoming video will be of much greater value (I hope) in this regard.

Still, if you are so interested about this mask thing, you know we've categorically been cautioned against posting anything OT here.

So, what about another thread?

Mith I will remind you what Hans said on page 5:
"I will say that PP dogs must be neutral in public . If the dog is out of control then you can not take it with you and his protection training is worthless to you."

I very much agree with this statement.

Fan while the statement has some validity , it is not absolute. There are rotties that came to our club with both dog and people aggression. Today they both move among people off leash , and the male has acquired his PSA 1
