@adhahn: TY for your considered response, which is fine of it self; but you entirely missed my point - which was ONLY that there is - and as far as I am aware always has been - a single, simple definition of 'sharp' among dog folk (work, sports and show) in the UK (and that it's a pity that a similar unified general understanding of common canine terminology just does not exist in the States, causing no end of confusion !). That was all I was saying.

Thank you very much Yogidog !   Mithuna, why has it still

not occurred to you that I never try to influence discussions

on "how to train bitework" - since I don't - but that my

opinions on the language and definitions used,  and basic

training principles, are as valid as the next "man's" ?  Seems

to me that the "men" have had a very good run on PDB discussions, going back years  & including some really

mysoginistic tripe you would have simply loved, re.

women handlers/competitors !   Too bad if you now see

women in the field posting on equal footing - swallow it !
