rlujan, it is not a 'waste of time' for a satisfied owner to come here and tell us
how great they think their dog is.

It's all useful to hear, especially when it relates to a dog like Drago, who many
are keen to get as much info as possible on, for their own purchases and breed-
ing plans.

Doesn't really matter if you don't do very much competitively with your own dog,
and aren't very experienced or good at making any comments on drives etc.
Although its always better to work the breed, if you just have him as a companion
but can say that has worked out fine, you like his temperament etc,  then that is
still good background info.  Conversely, anyone who wants to say their dog has
a temperament that isn't good;  or one which has had health problems, is always
welcome to say that to the wider community  - please don't feel we are all some
kind of elitist 'experts' who won't take note of what you have to say.  It's always a
learning process, even for those who have been in it for decades and won trophies
etc, we can all specialise in certain areas but not others, depending on what we have
been involved in doing,  and we can all find out more about bits we have not.

BTW,  SimbaE had an excellent point about the longevity factor.

Too often we hear of GSDs not 'lasting';  using older dogs
for stud who have proved they can reach two figures - or very
nearly, in Drago's case so far - can surely be useful in breeding
for the overall 'good of the Breed'.   We have less flexibility with
that in terms of females, so why not use older studs, so long as
they are healthy and happy ?
