so the grown adult men competing in the olympics should have to foot their own bill?  maybe I should repost mine and have you read it again :)

and your past history paints a different picture.

I will not engage the childish rants and tantrums.

Steve1, I see your point, that the percentage of "help" each organization gives is tied to the number of members of the team that are going.

My main hope is that for 2014 we can have a good clean trial with as many competitors possible, that the absolute best Americana has to offer is on that team and that finances do not hinder America's team from doing their absolute best in the world championship....

If the People selected over here did not get help with there expenses then i would not expect many would be able to afford to take part .  It is the same i guess for all countries who do participate. But i do not know how other countries work it. For instance this year the USA? So what it means is the flight for handlers and dogs and at the other end several  vans to carry the dogs in and Hotel bills etc. it certainly is going to cost a huge amount of money just for the Belgian team? Already i think the team here has been revised possibly because perhaps one or two do not wish to travel so far i do not know the reasons for the change.

I have a European friend who thinks International dog trials will soon be a thing of the past based on cost.
You'll still have big competitions in Europe because you have so many countries in a small space, but  it's getting too expensive for anyone from North, South or Central America to travel to Europe

Think about the Guy who travels from Trinidad on his own, and several more countries far away with small teams. a lot of Guts and Faith in there dog and themselves. that is what makes the dog Sport. A country the size of the USA should be able to Sponser its own team if Belgium can then surely your country can do the same with expenses for travel and hotel bills. No one over here gets there work time back they have to lose two weeks wages, but if you are in the Sport to go as far as you can then you know what you have to pay out before you ever get to that stage.
If my Dog Qualifies next year i am a pensioner and they give little away in the UK my pension being a quarter lower than the normal Belgian pension; but what ever it takes will be found; and if she gets through the selection process in a fair position, i will be saving up from then on hoping all will go well in the Belgian Championships later in the year.

So we have moved away from having one WDA judge and one USCA judge do the qualifier because of perceptions that they MAY have been biased toward members of their own organization? Our solution is to go to SV judges to choose the USA team! Do you think  there could be a (even subconsciously) bias toward the USA NOT having the best possible team at the world's? Am I being silly?

Of course what the USA team does is nothing to do with me being an outsider from another country. but in a way if changes had been made to the way teams are selected then it would have effected my own countries team, being two separate organizations. What the problem was this year it seems in the USA was that you had TWO judges for each phase, and the scores on some were poles apart.
If you even had 3 judges from the USA the third judge will have to come from one of the two organizations so that will again could create a problem?
By having one judge from each side and one neutral judge that should stop any problems and seems to be the way to go. As i said over here we get three judges one for each phase they are pretty hard on there scoring giving nothing away as it should be, and we accept what scores they give.
