Jackie what terrible news, but you always face life's blows with such grace. I remember your pain and loss of Kali, and how deeply it affected you, and you are alwaysthere to offer others consolation.  I too will hold you in my prayers and hope that you can defy the odds and beat this disease. Kali I know will be watching over you.  

 

Jackie, I always read your posts here due to their positive nature and your honesty. I'm not giving up on you regardless of the prognosis. Please don't give up on yourself. Doctors are often wrong and there are many people who are proof of that.

Keep the faith and we will do the same on your behalf.

Thank you so much, you all are so wonderful! No I am not giving up! I was given percentages of survival rates for the different scenarios I may be presented with once I get this mornings results back. It most likely I will fall into the 47% to the 17% survival to 5 years categories, possibly much less, but dang it, I intend to BE one of the survivors!
However, that being said, I am getting my ducks in a row, just in case!
Unfortunately, this cancer has usually spread my the time it is detected, & being a Hospice nurse, I have seen it before, & it's ugly. I am advocating for myself strongly, tho' & so far I have been able to get a lot done in a very short amount of time, 'cause time is not my friend right now.i am continuing to work as long as I am able, but I'm going to be pushing for a fairly radical surgery very quickly. It's my best hope. I would like to add a cautionary tale here, I KNEW something was wrong with me, but my doctors kept blowing me off, & when I finally got a special to see me without a referral, my positive biopsy report sat on my providers desk who was on vacation for 3 weeks! That much lost time could have killed me. Why did I call & insist they look for the results? Because my sweet daughter of Kali, Ansgar, kept bonking me in the exact spot of the cancer, & sniffing me there in the gut, & then sitting back & staring at me. I'm sure they thought I was nuts when I told them my dog says something's wrong, but sure enough, the biopsy was ++....not even 1 normal cell or scrap of normal tissue. All cancer. So if you think you have an issue, advocate for yourself! No one else will! Thank you again, everyone! I was sedated for the tests this am, & I'm still a little groggy, I'm going back to bed for a while! Love you all! jackie harris

I DO believe in prayer in ANY form, it really works! I am so grateful to you all for helping me in that way, it is the best medicine any soul could ask for!  I wish I had the energy to thank each of you personally, but know each one of you are very special to me,  & I hold you all in my heart as well!

The power of positive prayer.  I pray for the dogs on my EPI site that are suffering, and Jackie I barely know you but feel as though I do. Fight the good fight, and I will add you to my prayers as well.
