Western Rider Edit

I think people like to post too much of their business on the internet.  If you don't care what people think or what their opinion is, WHY PUT OUT ON A PUBLIC FORUM.

Lots of good posts this morning. Only thing I have to add is this, yes I know health testing is expensive but if you can afford to buy dogs, you can afford health testing.................

Paul Garrison and to those Interested
You say that i am at the other end of the Breeding Standard, Sorry but i cannot say for LTS but for myself my Female is right up to the standard required and laid down by the Powers to be. She cannot gain any higher in Breed Surveys so where then does one go too plus she is Impeccably bred. Her Hips and Elbows are a1 normal etc DNA and Koered, Plus by the end of the year IPO 3 but to most on this board we know that means little or nothing? But a dog who has never done a scrap of work except eat drink and sit on the couch is just the same as a dog tested fully to find out its temperament and how strong its nerves are. If none of the above means nothing then what on earth do 1000,s of people do it for. I have seen 100,s of these dogs working and believe me work brings a lot more out than that same dog sitting on a couch. I have seen such dogs who have been bought to our own club and the handler owner helped and some have nerves so bad you would not believe and nerves bring out the worst in a dog it makes it very unstable and there are a lot of those dogs around. Why simply because the bloody owners think it a waste of time or are too damn lazy. Had they given some sort of training when the Dog was young not only IPO but other work to test the dog it could have been different in some cases but for me a dog is born with bad nerves it is so inclined meaning it is badly bred it is in the genes. Others make out all sorts of reasons for not getting the Dogs heath checked Hips and Elbows. There is NO excuse at all for not doing them, except as above, Idle and will not spend money. but they will find the money to send there female to a Stud. i find all this talk very amusing really. but in reality i find it very sad because it is the breed that suffers in the long run. Paul,as regards Pups from my Female, Should she ever have a litter they are already sold i only need to pick the phone up and tell the lucky ones and that includes the USA. to be honest i could have sold to date some 25 Pups from her that has been the enquires for them plus at least 6 offers to sell her from Belgium, Germany, China and the USA so i have no problem in placing any pups bred from her in the future.. Well Guys i came back hoping to join in but most on here are poles apart from the way i think, but then it is not my way at all but the rules laid down as to what responsible owners should be doing with there dogs? i guess the rules laid down must not be correct

Steve
Go read it again. From the information you gave, it seems like you are trying to breed dogs to the standard. LTS does none of the things training or testing.  I am not putting you down. You are on the opposite end of LTS, and good for you.

Steve said: " But in reality I find it very sad because it is the breed that suffers in the long run." Absolutely and it is a big concern to me and should be to anyone else who claims their love for the breed.
Regarding H/E xrays and their expense. If you can read the xrays and you have a good vet who works with you, you can at least look at them an see what you're dealing with. No health testing is just not an excuse. I have a girl who is out of xrayed and a stamped dogs--agile, about 65 #s, smart---never would have thought anything and when I saw the xrays I almost had a cow--never thought they would be bad. Anyway I sent them in and she is moderate. Just saying see you never know. I have her daughter here and took her in a few days after her first birthday and we did what I call a look-see and they looked good. Just emphasizing how important I think health testing is and even on a very strained budget I manage to do all this..............it's just part of the deal.............JMO

As always, pdb thread to entertain me while I'm sick....................on a more serious side..............some comments were very true and the sad part is, Mailo was shadowed by tests that so basic in the breed that I cannot believe that it has to be discussed. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda doesn't get the job done.....action get's it done.

Comments were made that one can do whatever they want with their dogs and that is true. BUT (and unfortunately but true) it reflects on ALL OF US, even indirectly. These tests are just so mundane. I can't believe LTS that you STILL HAVE NOT DONE IT. If I remember right when this came up before, you said the same things. Now as time has gone by, your still saying and doing the same. The fact that this obviously is not a priority to you or to the people who buy from you tells the board you could care less or it would have already been done and long ago.

I'll be the first to say that I thought your pups turned out pretty decent in looks. I was surprised. And had I not known about all the drama you have shown on here, I might have contacted you. But my first priority in getting any dog is hips/elbows scores. That is my test to someone who is in it for the dogs or in it for the $$$$$

Interesting...
Living on the other side of the pond I don´t know any of the involved parties, but I don´t understand why all of this is worth any discussion.
It´s up to you to change the breeding rules, every club has the right to make its own rules and regulations - but most of the people in the USA don´t want to change anything.
A lot of you want to make money first and foremost - the more rules - the less money...
LTS wants to earn some money, so do Russ and Parrish. If they only would accept titled, HD/ED x-rayed, shown, breed surveyed females for their studs, they wouldn´t find enough bitches for breeding. And looking at all the Bomber puppies over there Parrish didn´t seem to stop the stud service at all - he might be a good guy - but his team needs to make money.
All of this is made by yourself; as long as there are no rules and regulations, everything is allowed.

Susie,
Most of the Bomber puppies came here before Bomber, including mine.
