There has been a whole lot of talk about Bomber but there hasn't been a whole lot of top competition IPO dogs shown off of him

Bomber had not one, but TWO sons on the national team last year.  Enough said.

Bomber had not one, but TWO sons on the national team last year. With beautiful conformation too!

Catty x Bomber is looking to be a fantastic litter - look for more to come.

When looking for a stud, any conscientious breeder looks at their bitch and decides WHAT SHE NEEDS. Looking at all that's involved is what it's all about. Weighing your bitch's qualities and needs and what she is also producing AND weighing the stud qualities and needs and what he is producing, means that a stud may be good for one and not another, NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE STUD IS/looks.

I myself have been claiming for years, that Bomber was the Bomb! (And I have,'had' always been more of a showline person).
The fact that he had 2 sons on the national team, and that he has excellent confirmation speaks volumes about the dogs qualities.

Two dogs, REALLY, 2 dogs make him a good producer??????? 2 dogs out of 160 progeny that are shown on the PDB and there are many more out there that aren't listed here. To me that isn't a very good percentage for any stud dog.

I'm sorry but what NATIONAL TEAM are you referring too?

We always hear people criticize a certain dog for his/her sport performance, like his bark and hold was ..............
Is it really the mistake of dog or the trainer who trained the dog? Maybe it is the fault of the trainer and nothing is wrong with the dog !!!!

And if you have shown dogs, every dog has his good days and some days that could be better.  You cannot gage a dog solely on his performance in a few shows.    At the same time, I would also not use a stud dog just because he might be the bomb at the present time;  I would want to use him for his quality progeny, temperament, longevity, balance in his working abilities for his puppies and versatility in his progeny.  That is what this breed is about, versatility.

I have done something few have done and I would bet none of you on PDB has. I have worked him, and when I say I worked him I put the voodoo on him and he is better then what was said about him. According to his record he can complete the
SchH III, and that is fine, then I took bites from him that hurt for 3 week on a hard sleeve. I am a strong man and have worked a lot of dogs and I felt like a rag doll in the jaws of Bomber. I would not work him in a bite suite, it would just hurt too bad. He is very very clear in the head and social and balanced in his drives. But that being said I would put him in my truck and do real street with him and he is the first social dog I have ever wanted in my truck. For those who know me I like nasty aggressive man eater types of dogs and I am telling you Bomber could be anything you want him to be, from a pet in the house to a on the street man stopper.

Paul,

Thanks for posting that. It is nice to hear from someone, especially with your knowledge, that has FIRST HAND experience with Bomber. I know the type of dogs you like... Knowing that the comments you made about Bomber were very nice.

I personally have always like Bomber. Just a very eye catching dog with a very nice working pedigree. I like his conformation as well. The pups I have seem off of him I have liked. I would get a male pup from him in a heartbeat!

Is Bomber a good looking GSD?...YES. Does Bomber bite hard?... according to Paul YES. Is he Sch 3?... according to his score book YES. While these are things you would look for in a prospective stud it doesn't make any dog a GOOD PRODUCER. Every time the subject of his production comes up statements like his looks, how many breeding he's had always come up. Never examples of his top progeny. Why is that? With as many offspring that he has there should be plenty of named dogs to point too. Some one on here talked about "two on the National Team" still don't know which dogs nor which team the are referring too. The only dogs I know of here that have been shown in top trials were shown by T. Floyd, who sold one. Which begs to wonder if it was because they were Bomber sons or was it T's training that got them there?
