Brittany

What is the point of this thread? To put down someone else.
Does it make you feel better about yourself to talk bad about someone you have never met?

I really dislike people that constantly insert themselves into other people's business just to put them down, but instead of suggesting to euthanize them, I pretend they don't exist.
I've said my part. Now time to pretend you don't exist.

Did I really just waste 5 minutes of my time replying to an internet troll? Luckily I mainly lurk on this forum so you can't look at my old posts and find some way to put me down too.

Good riddance.

PS> Why should a dog have to like children? They are loud, make quick motions, and poke/prod/grab. My dog tolerates children and we go to Petsmart and Lowes to practice meeting them, but if one grabbed his ears he may nip them. But guess what? He never gets the chance to because I only let well behaved children pet my dog. I am on constant alert when children are around, as a good owner should be.

I will tell you why I like dogs that are aggressive.

When anyone comes near my yard and the dog warns them with a lot of aggression, that person is warned what is on the other side of the fence.  If a dog is passive or even friendly until they perceive a threat,  the intruder might climb over the fence and steal my property or the dog might decide he is now a threat and bite him. Then a big law suite. I own a business and carry substantial money on me and in my truck, I want anyone that gets near my truck to be threatened with extreme aggression. That keeps them out.  If they are foolish, or determined enough to break in well let your imagination be your guide.

I do not take my dogs to Pet Smart, heck I do not take me to Pet Smart, it is not my thing.

In my neighbor hood I am the "watch" I prevent crime and stop it as well. The police can not do it all, and like my help.

As far as dog aggression and children aggression go....We do not have any kids at home, and when they come to visit they do not get to pet my dog anyway.  I never never never run my dogs together and I never have dog fights because of that. Dogs have minds of their own and you never know what one thinks or what they will do next. So with that said I never never never leave a child and dog together alone and have never had a dog bit a child.

My motto is this    "If you want to pet a dog buy your own"

Brittany you are  living in LaLa land.
I have these questions for you. :
1. Who made you god and give you the right to tell or even question what people need or want?
Let them decide.
2. Have you ever seen a live dog which does not bite children or anybody? I did not.
More people with Lassie / Rin Tin Tin syndrome are the cause of children  losing their face then people like Paul. I, in my modification training, have seen many people who romanticize their dogs who are not what the owners wont to or believe to be.
I am here to say that every dog may bite a child and if your dog is a mild mannered or very aggressive as a dog as the one  Paul is looking for, then such  dog needs to be handled as dog which may bite a child,...or anybody for that matter.

And finally, here are some answers to your question.
Why would anyone want a dog like that?
Because if behooves them to have one like that.
Because they like a challenge to train one like that.
Because they were robbed at gun or knife point by teenage gang bangers and do not want their dog to think that all children are angels.
Because they need dog for industrial yard area protection.
Because they know that all dogs bite and they can handle such dog  and they do not want have any inhibition for their dogs.

Because what does it make any of your business?

The biggest difference between us is,  I want you to be able to live your life the way you want to, but you want everyone to live their life the way YOU want them to. I have no use for your kind of dogs, but I am glad you do, and I hope you enjoy them. I will enjoy mine.

RockyGSD, This thread was not intended to be used as personal bashing. I do not have a personal grudge against Paul. I simply questioned his adv “Does not need to be social, good with kids or other animals” when socialization, being good with kids and other animals should an essential part of the package when inquiring an animal (IMO). What if that dog who is not socialized, not good with kids and other animals manage to escape the kennel, and is out in public area? What if the lawn maintenance people forgot to lock the gate, and your dog decided to walk out of your yard? What about the safety of others? I'm tired of hearing about German Shepherd dog attack on the news. It doesn't look good for the breed, and it gives even more ammunition to the breed specific legislation nuts out there.

Please take a look at this article: http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2013-03-08/news/fl-pit-bulls-attacks-20130305_1_pit-bulls-dangerous-dogs-dog-attacks
This is a physical newspaper clippings that I saved. The media and the politicians are currently picking on the Pitbull breed; when will it be before they start picking on the German Shepherds? especially with this kind of report from Animal Control. This is what I fear the most.
