As it is, I have a young female who is fine with my family and is ok when I take her places., However, if a stranger comes on the property, she lets them know in no uncertain terms that she is 'for real'.
After your place as been broken into a time or two, you come to appreciate a 'hard' dog.

“Since I've been on this board yo've never added one thing of value.”
I don't know if I should call you a liar; a gossiper who spreads false rumors; or just lazy. To say that I never added one thing of value is clearly false. Perhaps you should click on my name, and see some of the stuffs that I've recently contributed to this forum before you even say such false statements like that.

“And now you think any dog that doesn't ac t according to what you think shouldn't be owned.”
Since when did I implied that? I simply said that potential dangerous animals who aren't social, doesn't like children and other people are better off being PTS because the quality of live for them is minimal. Being locked up in a cage all day and all night is an act of animal cruelty at a psychological level, and yes my dear friend dogs do have feelings.
A dog that loves his/her family who are also great working dogs aren't foo foo dogs IMO :) Not sure why you even brought that word up since I only associate “foo foo dog” with small breed dogs like Yorkies. Why are you so against working dogs who loves his family? Do you really think that hard working dogs should hate those that surrounds him? To be locked up in a cage 24/7 because of bad temperament? An animal who isn't temperamental sound in the head shouldn't even be working... let a loan continue to be trained in protection work.

His socialization involved experiencing as many things in life as possible, but excluded strangers touching him except at a veterinarian or petco.
He is very civil and has a great temperament. He is my go everywhere dog. I am an avid walker and hiker both in the city and in the parks. We walk for miles every week, some of them off leash.
I don't kid myself thinking he is a nice doggy with others but he is more than a nice doggy with the family, some might even say he loves us. But I realize this dog is serious and not a toy.
With all that said, he is a treasured member of the family kept in the house that is happy and has a full life, free of cages, and frequently free of leashes.
