my "reddish" female - lightened up considerably over the past almost 8 years -- she also has a lot of salt/pepper on her topline - which I'm not crazy about. -- I also owned the "repeat" breeding of her mother who was quite reddish on her tan parts - and she stayed a rich "red/brown" color into adulthood. I've had other dogs who are one shade of tan in the winter and a different color in the summer -- I don't consider any of these circumstances "fading pigment" -- I'm looking thru my pcs for a good example of "fading pigment"-- which would be more on the order of a bitch that starts out black/tan - black/red - and by the time they are 2-3 -- they can be mistaken for a sable --- that's bad !!

oh - and my puppy eats carrots for "chew toys" - and poops out little bits of carrot - but he doesn't need any help being red !!! he just keeps getting darker (thanks' to his daddy)..
and if I'm not mistaken - aren't there some warnings somewhere about using too much OLEWO type products? as the carotine can have a negative impact on the liver? or some other organs?
