Thanks everyone. I have always thought they were separate, but not everyone sees it the same way. More discussion is welcome!

Bee and Brynjulf,
Very interesting about your nerves....But do you have good hips?  How is your conformation?  That is really all that matters anyway.Wink Smile

Slamdunc,  after a 5 hour labor with my first born.  My doctor declared that "I had breeders hips and exceptional muscle tone"  I wasnt sure if that was an insult or a compliment :)  I would not be a good breeder though as my knees wouldnt OFA :)

Oh LOL, Slamdunc... don't get me going on the birthing stories!  Let's just say, the hips did their job. And as far as conformation, some areas are better than others. The better areas are spectactular.

I agree with Kinolog,
temperament is a broad term, to me it is the dogs character, behavior, manners, personality if you will.

Nerve is more defining, is the dog calm or excitable, courageous or cowardly, focused or or distracted, will it hold up or give up.
Is it strong or weak in any given area, what are it's limits.

Bhaugh;  I totally agree, not trustworthy is a hugh problem.  I was just curious and placing with a trainer would make perfect sence to me as they could monitor the problem and hopefully restructure.??  Do not know if that is possible.  Thx  Nan
