Bucket inside of car tyres :)

My pup is now eating the rubber :):)

Tried a house brick in the bucket (didn't work either)

Kiddie pool - empty in less than 30 minutes and used for a bed,

Haa haa gotta do better than that !!!!

Will have to find a new way.

Tried stainless steel buckets with the single hook and now progressed to ones that have a double hook,
seems to be working for now.

My other dogs have graduated too to large white industrial buckets  (10 litre I think) attached to the fence with 2 or 3 leash clips.

Rule 1. NO BUCKETS in the house.

Thank y'all so much for your help. I have a lot of new things to try. As for excerising him, he never gets tired. We go on walks, play none stop, and him and his brother always play. I did find however if I fill the bathtub up about half way he loves to play in that. We tried that today and I went away for a little bit to see if he would still do it and when I came home he was sleeping in the tub, no water and he was out when I left. Apperently he just likes being in water. So I'm going to change his water buckets and just give him some bathtub play time. Haha. Thanks again everyone. Very helpful!!!

Lol... I know is should not laugh, too funny though. All of my GSDs do this so I thought it was just a dog thing until about 2 years old (at least that is when Baron and Rose stopped). I only put a stop to it when the bowl would be carried all over the house. Good luck. Sounds like good advice.

Welcome to the real GSD ....Korbelbach, BuseckerSchloss, Tiekerhook, Haus Beck,  Wildsteigerland, Monteforthalle, Arminius, Pelztierfarm, Klammle, Kisselschlucht, Silberwald, Wienerau, Sturmwolke, Enclavehof, Alhedy's Hoeve,Noricum Kirschental, Bungalow, Lahntal, Fuhrmannshof, Arolser Hols, Buckower Feld,Itztal, Allerswald  and on and on and on

THEY all do it, you will never stop them, until you spend 10,000 in metal buckets , clips and turn the gsd into a paper doll.

SO just use two handled buckets, very Stainless Steel, and after they tear it up ,buy a new one. NO amount of exercise, wearing out, preaching, or talking is gonna change the Water bucket trait.

Ask any Breeder , trainer who owns a KORBELBACH...been there done that..

Just grin and bear it and my son put a indention in the concrete large enough for the SS Soup pot they sell at BIG LOTS and the only way we get them out is with a large pair of needle nose pliers. YOU lift up , empty the dirt from paws and clean and refill..

ANY way they can put their teeth , paws or mouth on the water pot or bowl , it is theres to play with and to destroy..

Some are worse than others., especially your Korbelbach, Kirschental, Tiekerhook as they delight in the kill even though it is metal...OH yes, you could train them not to touch it..but I am not gonna take one of their only loves in their outdoor life...a bucket of water into a command to leave it..

Mine also does this, or did.. she recently has stopped after turning 2.

I have 3 water sources in her kennel.. two are chained down and one of those she could still dump at times.  She still has those two and recently I have put a regular SS bowl in her kennel, put water in it and she has NOT played in it.

Of course, when I take her to the stream at the park she plays there so maybe she has out grown playing in her water dish OR just raised her water play standards?
