No criticism of any specific dog or trainer here.
Suspect scream pitch is not relevant if he's cutting away with a free hand. What's relevant is if a trained dog can self-preserve when losing the fight by shifting bite targets for tactical advantage.
Biting deeper may not always be the effective reaction, but perhaps the dog will fall back on what is was encouraged to do during training.
