How terrible! I'm very sorry for your loss. I don't think you ever get over losing your heart-dog. You just learn to keep going without them. Peace to you, you must feel awful. jackie harris

Things happen that should not have.  I have an older GSD and any day something could happen.  I lost a male, my first, who I took in who because of his condition should have been put down.  But we had 8 years of love between us and suddenly he was gone.  Could have been because of his life on the streets where he was thrown?  No one looked for him and some people abused him, but he had totally love with me.  I think he was hit by a vehicle from the way he acted when he was with me, brain tumor, I will never know.  I miss him horribly, but time eases gradually the terrible hurt.

Remember that your other dog is grieving also, Give her attention as you both grieve.  She will help you and you help her.

Yesterday I must have easily driven 400 miles.  I had to return home and drive 150 miles in rain and late at night, 10 or 11 pm, that could have made the roads slick.  I had two dogs with me and was driving so carefully.  I was about 30 miles from home and in the second lane from the right as that right lane comes and goes.  Suddenly, a small car came onto the freeway and cut so closely in front of the right side of my minivan that he must have been only a couple inches from my headlight area.  I had taken my foot off the gas as I saw him so close to me.  That action on my part might have given me the necessary inches to save our three lives.   If he had hit that area, it would have sent me into a fast spin and into all the other lanes filled with other vehicles and probably killed a lot more people.  Without losing control, I was able to hit the high beams and then the horn to warn others, but he hit the gas and flew through all the lanes of traffic into the fast lane and was gone.

So, do not blame yourself, things happen.

Best wishes!!!

I am so sorry for your loss.

Words might sooth the mind but only time will heal your heart.

Give it time.

Oh, how heartbreaking. I am so sorry you lost your boy in such a tragic way.

I am glad that you found him though, even though it must have been terrible for you. It has to be worse never to know as YR says.

RIP Frisco, and may your poor bereft owner find peace too.
