I feed her Taste of the Wild. I don't remember what I feed her as a puppy though so that could have had something to do with it. I don't think I was feeding a grain free at that time. I started her on grain free about a year and a half ago so she would have been about 1 at the time. She started settling down at 1.5 which is about the age they start settling down anyway so hard to say. I don't think the grain was doing her any good that is for sure. She did kind of act like a kid hyped on sugar as a puppy but don't they all to a certain extent? Anyway, her activity level is great now and really the only "complaint" I have about her is she is a little stubborn. Still at 2.5 years old sometime it takes me correcting her a couple of times before I can get my point across... but at least I can get my point across so all and all she (we) are doing fantastic now. It was her puppy phase that she acted kind of like you described... like a kid on sugar. Like she couldn't focus. Every trainer I took her to said she was just "difficult to handle" and would need a more physical/harsh correction to get the point across. The trainers usually pointed to her getting spayed at such an early age. Who knows... she is great now and that is all that matters to me and I love her to pieces. She does so fantastic with our new puppy and she is amazing with the foster dogs that I work with to rehabilitate and socialize. I feel really lucky considering we took on a completely unknown rescue dog.

No matter what you say to the op whether negative or positive, they oppose it. Say something nice and Kevlar says NO say something dorragatory and it is No again. We just need to stop. Why did Kevlar even bother asking everyones opinion when clearly we are dealing with a know it all about GSD's with oppositional personality disorder.
