well SteveI wasn't very hungry at all yesterday!! the kill day at the one local slaughter house is Fri, and they killed 14 cows, they don't seperate out any of the organs just throw them in barrells, I got to go through them (eww) I was covered from head to toe in blood and green tripe. Then I had to come home dig through it and cut it up!! The other slaughter house I went to after was nice enough to put the organs, and meat the customer didn't want in a box for me (Thank you) Then I went and spent 30 on this lovely little goat to bring him home tie him to a tree shoot him, skin him and slaughter him, I was NOT hungry after that, stinky maybe but not hungry!!! The fact that it was a woman willing to go through all of this surprised them all esp when I didn't need help lifting the intact stomachs.  Even got offered a job durring deer season, pretty good money and all the free stuff I can  put in a box. Now I'm not a "girly" girl I'm also not a big girl and I never dreamed I'd take a job skinning deer or doing anything in a slaughter house!!! EWWW prob is I'm also a rather frugal person. ewwww FYI my 22 mo old daughter had the best time playing with the goats eyes when they popped out,LOL

And good for you not many women would do that or males come to that, However if the occasion arise over here i would do the same and jump at the chance, However you must have huge Freezers over there not the little Fancy things they use in Belgium, My problem is Freezer room and where to put another one But i cannot get the Meat like you Guys can so my poor dogs must do without and there owner eat little himself

Speaking of the green tripe how in the world do I feed it? do I just give it to them? it's really stinky Now I know why you get a different freezer for the dog food, my entire freezer smells like green tripe, pretty sure I found a new diet for people put it in your freezer and you will lose your appetite when you go to get the stuff for your dinner!

Well Steve like I said I'm not a person with a week constitution,  but am frugal and when I looked at the prices of the green tripe online and from suppliers I thought there is no way I'm paying that!! built rabbit hutches today will pick up some rabbits this week and will just raise my own.  I am NOT however getting chickens they are nasty animals and poop everywhere!!!!!!!

I feed the tripe in big chunks. I have it hacked up in big pieces and freeze it in bags or tubs (in my big chest freezer...good Lord, I don't put that in my freezer, because trust me, EVERYTHING will taste like tripe. Everything.) and feed it outside. The chunks or strips are better than ground, imo. I don't think ground food is a natural diet for anything but young puppies.

I keep all sorts of nasty stuff in my freezer; I don't recommend anyone "normal" looks in there;-)

No problem there I don't have really any "normal" people that come to my house! LOL

You guys who have access to fresh tripe are really lucky.  I have to get it shipped to me, but at least it's from organic, grass fed cows, so I feel good about that.  I feed organ meat & tripe every morning along with salmon oil & vit E, then whole bones at night, usually chicken frames/necks, or goat necks, or beef necks, or lamb necks, or llama or alpaca necks.  Sometimes I feed a can of mackeral in the morning instead.

Does popcorn count as part of a raw diet?? The 9 wk old has now figured out when the popping slows down from the microwave the popcorn is about done, tonight I was popping a bag and he started barking madly right before it was time to take it out and running from the microwave to me and back barking! He might have come off the puppy tracks sooner if I had laid them with popcorn instead of hot dogs, silly me!
