"He was here in the states until some horrified EU bought him, or so I was told. LOL"

Jeff,

What di you mean by that? Do you know the current owner of Lubeck? What have you heard about him?

I would say you are not looking at a show/working dog.

But a nice looking GSD bred on working lines...
Is this your dog Rico?

The Netherlands... out of all the European countries
seem to care less about show dogs. They breed
for work more.

LUBECK VON DER MAHLER-MEISTER....KNVP dutch
And will probably rip you a new one... lol..

The biggest paradox I have found is, the professionals
should have the best dogs right?

I almost cried when I saw my first police dog trial.. in the USA.
It was so bad that the only dog I liked was a Dutch Shepherd that a highway
patrolman had...And what are  highway patrolman doing with a working dogs?

I think Hans makes a good point, ..in Europe. But here in the USA the Law
Enforcement is just now starting to work some really nice dogs. (with in the last 6 years)
If my life depended on my dog helping me aginst an attacker, I
would want a good dog with lots of courage to back my play.
And I would also know how to shot my pistol....don't assume this is always true.
Just the Ideal.....Law suits have put Law enforcement in a bind when they are trying to
protect themselves from possible life threatening situations. Nobody has a crystal ball.
The public needs to know you do not show threatening posture with a police officer..Period.
They our the ones on the front line who serve and protect...Their not social workers.

Just my experiences. I do not need to be lambasted over it! I am relatively new to working dogs, Imported a West German Female and a Czech Female last spring. Just in the case of these two dogs the West German has a much stronger character, equal drives and is calm and focused in her work. The Czech bitch (ZVV1) has weak nerves than I would like, very high prey drive but is also much more hectic... I plan to breed the West German to working line males only. Comments welcome :)
