Well if that is all it takes then I am going home to bath all of mine having stopped off at the chemist to pick up some Optrex. Is there any guidance on "healthy weight" - I then know my target for the next show!!

Hi all,

I contacted CHRIS EVANS via RADIO 2 today, as I have his e-mail address, at 3 p.m. this afternoon.  I have had a reply from Radio 2 Executive Director saying she has passed on the message to his PA - so keep everything crossed.

If anyone would like to contribute to letting him know the state of play with all these issues then I am sure he would be interested.  Once I get a concrete answer I will pass on as much as I can.  I dare say the gentleman in question would like to read all the paperwork on this before he commits himself to anything.

All we can do is hope someone will take on the cause.

Poor Chris Evans...  I too, emailed him earlier today!  Proof, if any were needed, that we need some sort of centralised organisation for this kind of thing.

There you go all jumping into bed at the drop of a hat !! Now perhaps you can see why I said we needed to wait until after our face to face meeting on Saturday. Headless and Chickens springs to mind ..we really do need to get some assemblence of order and togetherness, no good singing from the same hymn sheet unless we all learn to start singing at the same time. Its great so many want so desperately to do something and I know we are all eager to get started and its so encourageing that for once in years we are fighting over enthusiams as opposed to apathy, I cant tell you how much of a delight that is. So much so that it almost pains me to say , hey guys we need to step back a little and take stock, but seriously we do, it is far better that we take care now to lay solid foundations than end up with a hop scotch of a botch up job.
 A happily , encouraged

Sue Belfield... I am not a chicken nor am I headless!  However, it looks as though I may be a bit of a trollop!  LOL... is that a great word or what?  TROLLOP... yes, I can live with that!  My lips are sealed... now.

sue,i am sure aileen has enough gumption and know how to give Chris  a rough outline of the greif we,ve been getting off the KC and i,m sure they would want to meet to get the correct info before spouting off on the radio.surely they too have scripts to refer too while on air.imagine Chris asking the relevant questions and Joe answering them.MUSIC TO MY EARS.

Hi Sue,

I am not going to come on here and create any tension between myself and you as we have enough of that already with the situation we find ourselves in at the moment.

I have met you before at shows and we have spoken albeit briefly on these occasions and we have spoken via e-mail and you know full well where my heart lies.  I also have the utmost respect for you and your feelings on these issues.

However, there are many many capable people in this breed and this country has freedom of speech therefore if I can do or say anything to help forward a way of having healthier animals in this breed I will do so.  You, like many others and many that do not come on here, have strong views on what you would like to see and what you want to happen and all respect to you, but your opinions however strong, your statements and your suggestions are as such ONLY YOURS.  If there are individuals that can help to make this Breed better then so be it and all strength to their elbows.

You have to admit our esteemed leaders have or are not seen to be doing anything productive at this stage, they may be working behind the scenes, but us ordinary folks in the Breed need to know that this is the case not just keep speculating - we need concrete proof that working is continuing and it has to come from them via whatever channel is necessary.

Many of the contributors on this PDB are more than capable of putting a case to whomever has an ear for it and if we can enrol a big enough personality or such like then we are part way there already.

Chris Evans has GSDs, loves his dogs and has just gone through a personal trauma with one of them and he has a job in the media, these are the people who can hammer home an issue to the public and the fact it is Radio 2 all the better - perhaps the Gentlemans Club (KC) listen to that or maybe they are to good for that and it is Radio 4, who knows.

All the evidence and paperwork that anyone like him needs is in the public domain and would it not be fabulous to hear him and Joe converse on the Radio about this subject - if that is what is decided by him and whoever, should it come to be.

The Public need to know what is happening and this has trundled on for the most part of a year.  Dog papers are all very well, but remember how many other Breeds hate the GSD Fraternity as well, I just wonder what percentage are thinking all this is perfect as they want rid of us at Canine Shows.

If and when I need to speak to anyone who can help they will get the WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH - there will be no bullshit, no ego boosting, just simple facts and I am sure you will do the same Sue.

Most posts on here will get holes picked in them by other posters and readers, but they still have the right to their opinion and if any one individual can make this issue move forward positively then good on them.  We should be backing them up to the hilt, not expecting them to accept OUR opinions and views as being gospel, because it is not.

Some of us are doers, some are fence sitters and some a bullshiters, others do not know what they want - however most want to know that there are some strong enough out there to fight for them and I am sure you are one of the fighters Sue, but none of the fighters can force the issue on anyone else, let them make their own choices - BUT AT LEAST LET THEM HAVE A CHOICE - SOMETHING WE WILL NOT HAVE IF WE SIGN THIS BLOODY PIECE OF PAPER.

All the best
Aileen

Calm down ladies, it was not a critism, just an observation. I wasnt suggesting none of you had the knowledge to speak to Chris or anybody else, just that at this late stage, so near to the BC Meeting on Saturday, I felt it perhaps better to wait until we have all met up together than to do things off our own bat, thats all. CHILL !!

Surely you could tell by how nice my encourageing and enlightening words were how pleased I was we are all so fired up, I just wanted to suggest we wait now until Saturday because there are so many more people who dont frequent this database that want to get on board and have their say, and I think with only three days to go, it would be nice now if we just waited and gave them a chance. Thats all, no problem for me either way and Aileen I have respect for you too and no intention of coming on here and starting an argument with anybody. Debate yes, argument, preferably not. See you Saturday.

Best Regards
Sue
