I have fought this battle w/her many, many times. It was always over Pit Bulls so very few got involved. My point was always the basic ignorance and underlying character flaw that must be present in a person to descriminate against a breed when it comes to humane treatment. It went largely unnoticed. Then, a few others started noticing her cold remarks about puppies with health problems or other flaws, treating them as commodities. Then, who else remembers the Basset Hound issue? Wasn't it her family member who had the pup w/cherry eye and she was talking about how stupid that person was for wanting to keep the puppy because she'd gotten attached to it?! I mean, who ever heard of such a thing- getting attached to a puppy from the standpoint of a pure companion?! Outrageous! LOL

I have to say I'm thrilled to see that people are catching on. I hope Eurosport wakes up, but for the right reason. Not just lost revenue. If that's their issue, then they're no better.

I agree, the "LOL" said it all to me.

That really showed how SM felt about the whole thing. To bad she sees it all as a joke. The poor abused and neglected dogs I am sure do not see the humor in it at all! I am sure that "large hairy rats" live in better conditions than those poor dogs did.

As for Eurosport, I know Taunya has worked hard to build a good reputation and obviously trusted SM to not damage that. The comments that SM makes has hurt the respect and reputation of Eurosport. For that SM should be ashamed.

I love topics like the above, but unfortunately this thread has lost it's way. I have a love for animals and no respect for callous humans and their actions and words against animals. Treating the very animals we all love as commodities and backyard fodder is unlike the animal lovers I know and respect.

I respect a great many of you and ask that this thread gets back on topic.

I do not condone the neglect or mistreatment of any animal. No animal should never be raised in squalid or crowed conditions and people who do this should be reported.

Dog breeders should do everything they can to produce healthy puppies that have been socialized in an age appropriate manor, puppies should be allowed to experience more then just the inside of a kennel or crate in order to grow into healthy and confident adults. Proper nutrition, sanitation, veterinary care, exercise and love is mandatory for healthy and happy development of any animal…….
 
My sister has a Pom named Simba that’s wonderful. My brother had a Chi for many years. When it became senile and would get lost, I would drop everything to help search for his little “Peanut”. Over the years, I’ve taken in just about every size and mix of dog imaginable from a Pit-Dane to a Chi-Beagle. One of my favorites was a Daschund that was unwanted after he became old and no longer in vogue.

When I lived in the country......I took in dogs from people that could not or did not want to properly care for and starving dogs found dumped and injured on the side of the road. I cared for them and brought them back to health and/or trained them and re-homed them at my own expense. I’ve also spent countless hours looking for and reuniting strays with their owners and not asking anything in return.
 
As I said before, the comment was to how the judge was treating his dogs. Like large hairy tailed rats. I’m sorry if some of you have misinterpreted this original statement.

Holy CRAP. That is NOT how I feel. I have 2 mini dachshunds that run my life! Fenda - the piebald - is the boss of the house and all the GSD's. I have raised and rescued all types of animals from skunks to mocking birds to deer and even 2 owls. I rescued 6 cats last year and had them all spayed and neutered. Kim was trying to be funny but it was not.


If the comment was meant to be funny or not. It wasnt! This is my last comment on this part... as I do not want to get to far off topic.
