ILGSDS, typically it's not the dog's fault that they act like brats--most of the time, the ones that behave this way have been over-indulged by their owners and have been permitted to call the shots in their life.  Small wonder that they try to assert that control over a stranger in the vet's office.  Additionally, many are not from the best of breedings--it's a lot easier to be 'rent breeder' (i.e., you breed dogs to pay your rent) of small dogs like Chihuahuas than large breeds, so often they don't have the best of temperaments, and when frightened one would expect a very small dog to be more defensively reactive than a larger, less-vulnerable breed of dog.

Bhall, you're dead-on: regardless of the species, I have no stomach for abuse of any creature.

Sitasmom

I have a 3pound female chi.,she is the love of my life.  She makes me smile when ever I see her. Her actions and looks brings tears to my eyes.  I know that your written expression did not come out the way you realy ment them to.

  have a nice day

It sickens me that someone who is susposed to be an "authority" on dogs would treat them so badly, abuse is inexucable,
As for small breeds, I own a Toy Fox Terrier who is a spoiled princess but she runs my Malinois in circles.  I also have a rescue Chihuahua here along with her 7 puppies and she is just the sweetest thing.  D

Different breeds have different purposes, Mals, GSD's and other breeds work for a living, little toy dogs are companions.  They sit in your lap, sleep in your bed and fit in your purse to go places.  I love all dogs reguardless of their breed.

What an awful comment Sitasmom.  They aren't my cup of tea either, but animal abuse isn't breed specific for me - I find it abhorrent whatever breed or species it may be.

I rarely comment on here, but am an avid reader. I must say that comments made by Sitasmom have truly turned me away from Eurosport as a source for the purchase of GSD. This one is no different. Like others on this thread have stated, who cares about the breed or even species?

Davren, you are correct!

OH, C'MON. we all say stupid things. Myself more than others. I'm sure it was supposed to be a joke, not well thought out.

Feeling magnanimous* today, Chaz?

*Edit: Thanks for the spellcheck. What do you want from me on a Friday night? LOL I think it took me three times! LOL!!!

Sure, Chaz, it was supposed to be a joke, but it's not exactly a rarity for the "joke" or other comment to be cold, callous, ignorant, or just plain hateful coming from that particular poster. The comments made by myself, Beetree, Davren, etc. are based on a PATTERN of such comments. Whether its Pit Bulls or Chihuahuas, SM has made it clear that her compassion for animals ends when the check is cashed.

I agree with Davren. In fact, someone just called me looking for a puppy. I didn't think my pup was the right fit. They asked about Eurosport. I said they're fine...except for their cohort, SM, which would be enough for me to buy a dog elsewhere.
