if your looking for top sport dogs then open your eyes there all over the place, but if your sister want more dog, then unkas will be the dog i'll pick for stud, and don't limit your self to ohio, there are a few very strong studs in other parts of the country who will for sure bring very nice pups!!!

You may want to consider - Grando vom Patiala. He is in Michigan. He only has his BH at this point but is ready for his schutzhund titles and will be getting them this spring. I have the mother, she is a great dog, and the father - Carlo vom Hilsblick is a great dog. Grando is linebred on Troll and Mink. Ajay Singh www.ajaysingh.com

We have Onnegardens Griff Sch3, FH2, KKL2(LBZ), "a" normal, Certified Police K-9-Ohio. Griff's sire is 2 time World Champ - Tom Van 'T Leefdaalhof and out of a Fero granddaughter. Bitch must be titled and have either "a" stamp or OFA Good or Excellent. You can see Griff's pictures and info at www.wilmothdogs.com then click on the male page then click on Griff's picture for his full page.

Dear Tim, I don't want to get into this Showline vs Working line thingy again, but my opinion is that the show line dogs are just as capable, and prove it many times over, of "working" just as well as the so called "working lines". It is the training. It's like saying that Michael Jordan would not be as good a basketball player if he was handsome. Jordan is handsome and is one of the best. Larry Bird is not handsome and is one of the best. The truth is that the working lines are not as pretty (on average) and are smaller (on average). Give me a large handsome GSD that works well and I will be happy. If I want a man subdued by my dog, I want my dog to be large. and I want my dogs' "looks" to be intimidating. Good looking is intimidating. Ugly is also intimidating. Average looking is not intimidating. In police work or security work, you should rather that the bad guy gives up and does not have to be subdued by the dog. I think that the working lines vs show lines difference is perpetuated by people with average looking dogs. The founder of the breed sought a certain "look", not just the abilities to work. His plan has worked to perfection. Have you ever watched the Police Dog contests on TV. A VA dog, or even a V rated dog, beats the crap out of the "working" dogs on those contests and on the Police Department I worked with. All nine of them were below adequate. I won't mention the city because I don't want to offend the handlers of those dogs. They are friends of mine. If Jessica wants a "working" male, she knows what she wants. No one needs to remind her of the differences and no one needs to remind me of the differences. Just tell her about your stud and leave it at that. Thanks. Walt.

Walt, LOL I have never heard that anology before. Pretty clever! LOL Being a guy, I think I am the only "handsome" guy around......and I can't play basketball. ROFLMAO Guess you don't want a GSD like me. LOL

GSDBrisko, you might want to step back and consider what your motives are. If you want to sell puppies, id breed to a resume. Find a dog that is sch3 a bunch of times (not that 15 or 20x sch 3 is impressive) but i think it helps sell dogs to the general public. But if you are looking to breed sound, top sport dogs id breed to pure drive and nerve regardless of who owns him, how many times it has passed a sch3 at a local club. My breeding experience is very limited but i think that drive and nerves are the easest things to compare between dogs. Training is a huge factor that is very very very different across the board. (while a dogs titles do speak to its trainablity) But if Fero,Mink, Tim Abfuhr, Troll, etc had never seen a sleeve and lived their life in the back woods of Tenn, or texas they would still have produced great dogs. If suggest speaking w/ someone who has been around a while and let them know what you want to do. I dont know of any breeders or anyone who has been around for a while in the mid west but im sure someone will be able to suggest a dog for either purpuse

As for Lion - Tim has worked that dog himself, and knows more about him than you do, Do right and fear no one!!!

"If I want a man subdued by my dog, I want my dog to be large. and I want my dogs' "looks" to be intimidating. Good looking is intimidating. Ugly is also intimidating." That has got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard! Wow! This obviously shows how little you know about training dogs and the different drives they have. And what is the point of getting so defensive about his pointing out that the gal wanted a working line dog? I have only seen one showline dog who could actually work - and it is Kendo, who also happenes to be on K9 Helser's website! I seen him on there - check it out for yourself - http://www.spd-k9.com/maledogs.html
