Tiago

My female was diagnosed with severe HD at a year and a half. She is now over 12 and still going strong for her condition and age.

She is on Etogesic and Tramadol. She is 70 pounds and her Tramadol dosage is two 50 mg pills twice a day. My vet gives me a written prescription and I get 120 pills (one month supply) from Target for $8.00.

Adequan injections were very helpful for her for quite some time, especially when she was young.

As for supplements, I used Ester-C, Glucosamine, MSM, Grape Seed Extract, Yucca, CM/CMO (cetyl myristoleate) and a few others with excellent results. The CM was amazing for a time. It is well worth the higher price for the better quality if you can get it. I think since her HD has progressed, many of the supplements have less of an effect.

I did use Joint Strong from Animal Naturals with her for awhile. It also seemed helpful. Most of the supplemets I was using are all in Joint Strong in more limited quantities.

My female also receives acupuncture and chiropractic care.  There is a form of electro-acupuncture that worked amazingly for my girl, but is generally used on more advanced cases or where regular acupuncture has limited results.  For a long while, I used to take her for underwater treadmill appointments at one of her vets. Swimming is awesome for them.

Good luck to you and your dog.

Have been following this thread for info in treating an elbow. What brand did you consider to be the better quality CMO. Where or who did you order it from ?

Thanks
