After pulling up an ad, it seems fine.   not slow .      There are good fakes and bad fakes..:)

The pictures are pretty crappy .    I never thought the pages were that slow, I am used to slow speeds I guess.

The image quality is now exceedingly poor in many cases. I suggest fixing it. As it is, people often complain of someone trying to fake photos, and now some of them are so poor you cannot tell much about the dog.

The loading speed was not an issue. Poor image quality will be an issue and many of the photos here now are just about useless for all but the most basic look to see it is a dog rather than a cat, for example.

I modified it a bit :)   I probably was too agressive in my downsampling.

The quality of the images that will show on all pages will be better then it is now and I will keep a high-quality version of the ad image for the actual classified page.

This will keep the snapshots shown on all pages quick to load with a slower picture available if you want to see more info.

Only problem is that I already degraded the quality of the pictures ..   So new classified pictures will be with this scenario.

Regards

Oli

Minor problem with my latter modifications. New ads wheren't saving the pictures correctly.

Its fixed now and when you click an image you get a crisp high res version, so the lack of quality in the classified image on other pages wont matter.

Oli

ps. older images still have degraded quality I'm afraid.  Need to resubmit those

 Thank you Oli,

The quality of images, especially on the database and of dogs for sale is very important I think.

Thank you Oli,  I was going to comment on that and you've fixed it already.  The only time I ever notice a slow load is when somebody uses a HUGE picture on a post.  And that is caused by the person up loading the picture not resizing it first

I did a quick check and saw that the average size of the classified picture shown per page was 80 to 150 kb  (and that times 2 since I have 2 per page) which is too much.  needed to take that down for users with slower connection or further away

Oli

I tell ya Oli, I dont know what all the rush is about,  you've given up quality for speed.    I wouldn't want my ad to look like that.

And I'm no longer in any hurry to read the post's, somehow something feels different.

I wish you the best.

Brent.
