Two Moons

by Two Moons on 28 February 2008 - 14:02

There are many cross's,  I had a link from shawlien.com but for some reason its not there today.

Shiloh, King, Timbershepherd, others in europe that go for the wolf look.  Just like the toys that are being crossed its all fad.

Some cross's make no sense at all.

"For anyone to try and compare anything about these degenerates to any work of Capt Von Stephanitz is preposterous.  These two freakish "breeds" having nothing to do with real GSDs except for being outlandish complete perversions of any small portion of the GSD genetics they may have hijacked. "

This here is the quote of the year. Preston gets the pdb award for this one!

Nothing to do with the original post but didnt Von Stephanitz cross different dogs at the onset of his plan for the perfect shepherd dog?     He was looking to create a hybrid for a reason and not just a fad.   I will say again I dont think the GSD today is fully what he had in mind.

For most it's not about the dog anymore it's about the money and the money will follow the fads.

suecc, it was an RCMP K9 police office who said that to me. I ASKED him how a police or schutzhund trained dog would have responded to that kid, and THAT IS WHAT HE TOLD ME. So, take it up with the Mounties!  Maybe a really clear-headed dog would be able to make that distinction, but I wouldn't be willing to bet on it, for the safety of the child. My dog was tied to my trailer at the time, and I was around the other side of the trailer, washing up dishes. As soon as I spotted the little brat, he immediately stopped what he was doing, and wandered off.

I later went to his campsite, and, in front of his parents, explained to him why he shouldn't wave sticks and point guns at strange dogs.

BTW, why don't you and hardawg READ some of the links I've posted instead of making ridiculous statements about the Shilohs that indicate your total ignorance of what they are? One of the links I posted above clearly shows the progression of the Shiloh from a GSD to the sort of dog you describe in your post. And Tina said QUALITIES, not APPEARANCE.

Oh, I see, your mind's made up, so you don't want to be confused by hearing the truth?

"For anyone to try and compare anything about these degenerates to any work of Capt Von Stephanitz is preposterous.  These two freakish "breeds" having nothing to do with real GSDs except for being outlandish complete perversions of any small portion of the GSD genetics they may have hijacked. "

Gee, I think Preston needs to take a course in genetics, so he can explain how FOUR outcrosses (one to a registered WHITE GSD, two to dogs with significant German Shepherd ancestry, one of which was actually AKC registered) in a 30 year period decreased the GSD content of the breed to a "small portion"??

Sunsilver please stop promoting your lame dogs here. You're not going to get anywhere with them and the majority of the people here don't want to have one or even to look at them. So just go and make your own promotion website for the critters or ask Ollie for your own seperate section before we bite you!

Sunsilver, I have had more than enough courses on genetics in my lifetime.  What I will concede is that I left one important adjective out before the words "GSD genetics they may have hijacked".  That adjective phrase should be:  "preferred"

Thus it should have read:  These two freakish "breeds" having nothing to do with real GSDs except for being outlandish complete perversions of any small portion of the preferred GSD genetics they may have hijacked.

What they really did with these two frankenstein breeds with most of their genetic material, is hijack the non-preferred or junk DNA of the GSD that the true GSD breed experts don't want to keep anyway.  It doesn't matter what they argue or claim, these dogs are built and maintained on the previously junk DNA of the GSD that the top breeders carefully selected away from.  Why resurrect junk DNA to construct a freakish oversized dog?  Perhaps so some self-centered individual and their associates can keep claiming how great their king's new clothes are !

LMAO@Preston again.

So you're saying the shiloh/king dogs were derived from the short bus riders?

hardawgs, there you go jumping to wrong conculsions again!   I don't own a Shiloh, but I am friends with people who do.

Pres, that post is so ridiculous, I know you're just yanking my chain...[sigh!]  What saddens me about this is I know  you and I DO see eye-to-eye on a number of issues. For instance, I'm sure you'll agree that back in the 60's the American breeders started to go the wrong direction when they bred heavily to Lance of Fran-Jo and his progeny, producing dogs with extreme angulation and often spooky temperments as well.

The vast majority of the people on this board reacted to this situation by rejecting the American GSD, and buying only German or European bred dogs.

Tina reacted to it by starting her own breed. First she tried to cross American lines with German, but gave up after one VERY expensive import was totally dysplastic, and another brought aortic stenosis and epi into her gene pool.

You think what she did was a total mistake. I understand exactly WHY she did it, and am just trying to get other people to see it and understand it, instead of spouting misinformation about the breed.  I'm totally fine if you think the breed sucks, to each his own. I'll save my dislike for labradoodles and their ilk...

P.S.  - The American Shepherds kept the 'junk' genes!

All of us are ridiculous but you Sunsliver.  You are the genetics master. I can see that by all the dogs you have commented on. Fine specimens indeed!

This is apparently your idea of a "FANTASTIC LITTER"... http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/user_comments/523411.html
