I recently purchased a single handled leather/suede tug from Hallmark and am very satisfied. Linen is a fabric made from flax fiber so I would imagine French linen is made from French flax fiber?

I am changing to a two handed tug because my shoulder can't take it anymore - may consider for a strong tugger. No suggestions for the harness.....have not seen anything like what you are describing. A number of dogs around here work in the patrol harnesses for hours, but we only have briars and waitaminute vines. They do make badge/patch holders that fit on collars and harnesses http://www.elitek9.com/Patches/index.htm For a durable squeaker, the cuz toys seem better than anything else I have had. No good for myd dog as he just clamps down but for a dog that likes to squeeze things.....

Dawgs, I've heard the same thing about that material. I figured for limited time it would be okay though, none of the dogs get to keep toys like tennis balls or the squeaker tugs. This is the one I use for our one girl, it's done an amazing job of bringing her drive up. http://www.dogtoys.com/kongfetchstick.html

Animules I'll check it out. Nancy I love the cuz toys for at home (my husband HATES them). I just prefer something I hang onto and tug than something I throw because he will crash through any cactus to get to it. And if it lands in the cactus it gets coated in the fuzzy cactus and the dog gets them in his gums/mouth. Sigh. Maybe Virginia would be a better choice. I really like Virginia. Sparrow do you know if the linen is as sturdy as jute?

For the harness, may I suggest www.allk-9.com. They have several I think you will like and much cheaper than the ebay link given. They also have quality tug toys. Plus under toys you might want to look at the jute gripper ball. I also frquent the dollar stores - some have great dog toys including tug toys and you know at a buck they last as long as they last and I don't fret.

I'm sorry Dawgs, I haven't been on too much, have a virus at home and time is limited at work LOL. I would think the jute would be stronger but it's a guess, no personal experience. I think jute is more brittle than linen so you may get tears but all in all jute should be stronger.
