So sorry to hear that Hans!! He was truly a beautiful dog.

The more dogs you see in life, the more you recognize a really really nice one. This was one of those dogs. I will always mourn their passing.

I just wanted to drop a line of Thanks to everyone that has had such nice things to say about my boy Dargo Ha-Ja-Da. I am happy to say that he brought great joy to my wife and I for the last 4 years, he was a joy to be with and a true representative of the breed when we took him out with us. He became a bit of a baby his last years and could always be found with one of his toys clamped tightly between his front legs when he laid down on his "cool bed" which he loved. He was a joy around our 2 Keeshonds and amazed the neighbors as their children would play with him on the front lawn until they grew tired. He was my best friend and I will truly miss him for a very long time, I only hope to meet him on the rainbow bridge with all our other friends. So long Dargo, I will always Love You, Dad.

Gustav asked me about the temperament of Dargo. You may also want to read this from his last owner. I am also puting this here because some people believe that working dogs can not be pets. Well Dargo woas the ultimate worker. I believe that being pet is one of the most important tasks of a working dog.

Re: Dargo Ha Ja Da

Thank you so much, Hans.  Dargo really was an amazing dog and it looks like ALOT of people all over the world recognized that.  We consider ourselves so fortunate to have had the opportunity to love him.  We spoiled him terribly, but I think he deserved it in his later years!  I know he was a spectacular worker, but what most people don't know is that he had a heart of gold and was really a big lover boy!  We taught him to give us a kiss (in no time at all - he was SO smart!) on command and he seemed to enjoy that as much as we did.   I have no problem with your sharing my email to you with others.   xxxxxxxxxxxx Thank you again and we hope to see you soon.

Sorry for the loss of such a magnificent dog!

by Gustav on 30 June 2011 - 11:06

Thanks Hans,
I just think it is so important that people understand you can have super working dogs and family pets in the the body. There is so much ignorance among some GS people that the great working dogs(especially in manwork), cannot be safe in families or the house.
Once again Thanks to Hans and to Frank!!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Dargo sounds like he was the complete package and was certainly handsome. Words seem so inadequate when you lose such a special member of your family.

by Zimbris on 06 July 2011 - 06:07

I have seen not one but several Dargo progenies that I lable as "good dogs", somewhat smaller in size but with excellent nerves. I am told he could have competed in any type of trial, he was simply that good...
RIP Dargo.
