And again, why I am Queen Psycho when it comes to thoroughly investigating buyers. I would be soooo pissed if I were you, Jennifer. Is it a money thing? Is that maybe why she didn't tell you? That's what I was afraid of happening which is why I buy mine back instead of just accepting them back. I was hoping that would ensure that they do tell me first...because we all know, people don't always keep their word.

Good luck getting her back!

Best of luck in getting your dog back :)

Based on my experience, when someone doesn't contact the breeder about taking the dog back, it's generally a money thing.

Yep. Or an embarrassment thing. Either way, I've found (thankfully only one time) that knowing that they will get their full purchase price back ensures that I at least know if the dog is up for sale.

I don't want people to think I post these here as spite or to cause drama.  I understand alot of times these owners never contact the breeder back.  I can not count the #'s of dogs I have found on CL that were shipped in from Europe, Alaska, Georgia ect.  these are not local dogs being placed.  If I can put these ads out in a more viewable board, and maybe, just maybe the breeder will see them and take the dogs back, or at least a more appropriate home can be found.  CL is NOT the best place to find homes for these dogs.

I am the one that owned Katana.  I must say that the first time I decided to find a home for Katana I asked Jennifer first if she wanted her back, and still have the emails.  She said no and I asked if she would let me know if she knew of anyone that would have been interested in her.  And then I didnt hear from her again, so no I didnt ask her if she wanted her the second time.  Katana is now living with the person here in OK that owned Hessell and will begin her training soon.  It was quite a shock to get on here and see this, I screened everyone that called about and her and I only considered people woth experience in working line shepherds.  Many schutzhund people and k9 officers inquired.  So I just wanted to clear that up that Katana was well taken care of and the breeder was asked if she wanted her back the first time, but no, I didnt ask the second time.

I never contacted anyone about trying to get people to take katana.  I did say that I might be interested in a trade for a dog with more training.  I dont have a club near me or a helper so wanted a softer dog to start out with.

Also, I dont want a big mess of drama and dont feel that I should have to explain my life situation to everyone.  The fact is that Katana was VERY well cared for.  I will not get into a debate on here but will defend myself.

Whatever happened to Hessel?  Anyone know his whereabouts?

by destiny4u on 30 March 2011 - 18:03

jenni you are awsome for doing that wow never heard of a breeder doing that!

just shows you care enough about your dogs that you would rather re home them yourself then have your customer sell them to god knows who.
