You are confusing me with the literalists, here. Amazing how many times I have stated that I am not literal, only truthful with understanding.

Now, back to the challenge, and try to answer that part. Which means an understanding of New Testament teachings are different than the OT. Just try to stay on topic with that for a time, not sure why it worries people here the way it does, with the avoidance and insults.

Your point was myth, I just proved where it is not. Why would that be?

That which is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. The burden of proof lies with the one asserting a knowledge claim.

by beetree on 11 April 2016 - 13:04

Back to the PROOF and evidence found in 1961 that Pontius Pilot was a living man in the time of Tiberius.

Why would that be inserted if Jesus is a myth?

by joanro on 11 April 2016 - 13:04

And Jesus was born to a virgin? Prove it!

by beetree on 11 April 2016 - 13:04

That was avoidance, btw. I have already said, where we are at a STALEMTE, about a half dozen times. That is as good as it gets.

Why not proceed with the challenge instead of going back to the stalemated comfort zone?

There are some historical facts inserted into most religious texts, which proves some historical facts are inserted into most religious texts. Next!

Lame, and linear and avoidance. Someone with imagination want to give the question some reasonable thought? It would be refreshing. Clearly there is no real interest being shown, so I will respond in kind.

Not a 'stalemated comfort zone', it's you avoiding the question. If you take any of the bible literally, then how do you explain the unexplainable.
I had to go to 'sunday school' when I was a little bitty kid. The nun was talking about jeebus rising from the dead and going to heaven. In my little child's mind, and knowing when we caught a fish to eat that the fish died out of water, and stayed dead during the two days out on the ocean while the fish sat on ice...that the fish were still dead when they were tossed up on the dock. So in my child's mind, I wondered, in the form of a question to the nun during class, how jeebus got un-dead and how did he goto heaven? Did he float like a dead fish floats up in the water?
My answer from the nun 'teacher' was to make me extend my hand palm up, so that she could whack my tender palm with a wooden ruler.....I never listened to another word from those evil nuns again, and when given the choice to go to church or not when I was 12 yrs old, I said hell ! no !
So even the nun's couldn't answer my questions but responded with violence...I don't really expect you to be able to answer them either, bee, because they are unanswerable, bible myths.

Do you mean Pontius Pilate?

by beetree on 11 April 2016 - 14:04

@GSD, yes, thank you for the correction. I kind of knew it was wrong but never got around to it correcting it. lol
I am actually in a hurry to leave my house, so... (Joan...I'll have to take some time later and read your post, since you took some time and I am assuming, some real thought into a response.) I am rushing! Oh, and I am human.
