Don't worry about the attack mode//

Patent that too

I am trying to stay focused and not be silly but in order to weather myself I feel the same way...lol

Let's just stay for the puppies sake.

Thanks but I cannot get on facebook..I have dial up and it is slow as mollasses and once I tried it and 386 people contacted me in two days from all over with gsd pics and wanting to be my friend as that is what the gsd community does,,but it froze my computer  I cannot log on any site or see videos..

The one u just posted came up fast...

Someone else may be able but I can email her if that shows up...wonderful..

I just need to know what size and length those bottles are...my son will figure all else out ..No need for anything but what bottle it is .

YR

That is the most amazing thing I have seen...I know the livestock community has all kinds of feeding tables and stall for cows etc..but never seen a puppy board...lol

Great info stary eyed angel!

The temperature of the milk is a good point.  Keeping it warm, as they take so long to drink is what I found hard.  One needs to stop and reheat.

by stary_eyed_angel on 06 January 2012 - 23:01

I always put it in a small insulated cooler with heat packs.  Worked very well for keeping it warm and I could just refill the bottle as needed.  If you don't have heat packs, put rice in a sock and heat it in the microwave for a couple minutes, shifting it around every 30-45 seconds so it heats evenly.  Use tongs for this as it's going to get REALLY hot.  When it's hot, stick in the cooler and it'll keep the milk plenty warm enough for feedings.  You can also use these to keep puppies and kittens warm but obviously you're going to want to heat it less.  If it's too hot for you to grab with your hands, it's way too hot for babies.  I test it against my neck since that's pretty sensitive skin.  If it's comfortably warm there, I put it in with the orphan and they usually snuggle up to it pretty quickly.

Stary eyed, why, you are so helpful with your experience! I can't imagine why you'd be "attacked". Rest assured, the mods are pretty on the ball these days.

I sure wish we would hear some news!!  This is worse than waiting for a litter of my own.  But oh well, this has been a tough day for me so I am not doing much but sitting.

Sorry I've been slow on the updates...I am still at greenbrier er..I have lost 4 puppies and now have 3 healthy females with 4 puppies still inside. If someone could watch my fb and post them here for me that would be great. This is a very hard day for me and I only have my cell phone so its easier for me to do updates on fn, but want to keep everyone updated.

by stary_eyed_angel on 07 January 2012 - 01:01

Victoria, I sent a friend request.  If you can accept me, I see your updates there and post them here.  I'm not doing much but stalking this thread and chores.

Edited to fix my errors.  Was typing and dealing with a kid and mixed up what I meant badly.

Hoping this doesn't upset you buy it sounds like Reign is having a rough time of it and you're losing more pups than you're saving.  Why don't the c-section her and get the puppies out already?

Damn it. ^%&*!  I wish that damn vet had been as concerned as I was LAST NIGHT. Maybe a strong Reign could've had a c-section on the spot and delivered live puppies! OH, I could SCREAM about stuff like this. Imo, and I'm possibly jumping the gun because I don't have all the info, but to me, this seems like pure NEGLIGENCE on the part of the vet last night who discharged her. Who sends a maiden bitch with heavy green discharge, up to 14 pups inside, and none delivered yet HOME???? Holy &^%*!!!

Victoria, I am so sorry this is happening to Reign and you. Still praying for the rest to be live and for her to be strong enough to go through remaining delivery or surgery and that whatever pups are still alive remain that way.

I don't do facebook. Darn it. I think this is the first time I ever wished I did.

All will be ok...if she has 6 or 7  pups she will be ok and the dam can raise them ok as her first litter.
