Has anyone reading this EVER witnessed a positive result for CB, either here or in Europe, in the last 20-25 yrs? The incidence in dogs these days is right up there with rabies. I personally, have never heard of one. Thus, CB is really not a very good excuse for not breding a stud dog to outside females.

On the other hand, like I said before, its rarely worth the cost of bringing in a top-producing, working line stud dog to the US unless you own the top quality females to breed to him to yourself. Your chances of even paying for the dog and his shipping cost out of outside stud fees are minimal at best. Read: Expensive Trophy.

On the other hand, a full-brother to that top-notch performer, fully titled, same Korklasse and show ratings, hip quotient, etc., but no placing in a major event or "knock 'em out of the park" performances, can be had quite cheaply, IF you know the right people in Europe... And, if promoted heavily, said brother can pay for himself fairly quickly, especially if you use somebody else's money to buy him in the first place, and keep half of every stud fee for "handling" the housing and breeding duties. (You know who you are  :-)

That sibling is liable to produce as well as its brother IF (and this is the BIG IF) he is bred to enough top quality breeding females, females that truly DO suit his own bloodlines, do produce high-quality progeny, SOON AFTER HIS ARRIVAL IN THIS COUNTRY... AND the results of those breedings end up in reasonably dedicated Schutzhund homes (Tall order) Breed him to a bunch of titled slugs, who have never produced any progeny of particular merit, and his career as a stud outside your own uses will be, uh, short.

The other thing that can and does shorten the careeer of the genetically-similar-but-performance-"okay" stud dog, is if the new US stud handler screws up the young, promising dog so badly with "THEIR WONDERFUL KNOW-IT-ALL TRAINING, and their f^@ked up, insensitive, couldn't-read-a-dog if-his-life-depended-on-it-and wouldn't-know-what-to-do-if-he-could, uh, "decoy".  Said brother-dog can never fulfill the highly-touted competition potential in the original promotional hype. Thus (wisely-handled) Dog never sees a trial in this country. Of course this absence from competition, especially after a lot of bragging about how great the young 2-3 yr old dog is, and will be, lets down the people who believed that horse-shit and bred their excellent females to him on some greedy stud handler's "say so."
But that's another matter for another thread.

Just my not-particularly humble opinion...
Oops... Sure hope I didn't offend anybody.

There is no dog in the USA that even comes close to the accomplishments of Aceofnike van het Bleekhof. We all like what we like. But no dog in the USA has accomplished more.  If I am wrong then prove it.

Love my canine, I just put the bong down, so remind me. Has Ace done more than Mike's dog?

So you are back to accomplishments. How much of accomplishments has to do with money spent ?

What about this dog Ace ?

On another note:
The breeder in Germany who bred most of the fine dogs I have imported in the last 12 years, has titled more dogs from his own breeding EVERY YEAR, FOR DECADES, than most US breeders have titled in their lifetime, their breeding or anone else's.

This Is not unusual.

OK. Brag away,
Out of hundred of puppies, every litter touted as "top working prospects", one would certainly expect a few of them would get titled.... Let's look at percentages, shall we? How about 80+ litters, for example, most in the last 6 yrs.
Yup, there were a few titled dogs, past the BH.
Does that make you a TOP breeder?

Love my Canine when you posted the same comment on favorite dogs in New England area about Aceofnike, I didn't think you meant in the USA. While he is a very accomplished dog you can't discredit Erri.

SG Erri z Blatenskeho Zamku, WUSVX2 SCHH3 IPO3 FH1 SVV1 Kkl1. Erri is also the 2007 National Champion of Czech Republic. He was suppose to represent both WUSV & FCI teams this year. He is also part of history of the breed, his half brother Lord & sire Orry are the only sire + sibling group to ever before compete at the same time on a WUSV team. His half brother is Lord z Lipin is V FCI & WUSVx2, & Vice World Champion. He has so many other siblings with high titles & offspring as well.
Their sire SG Orry (IT)  WUSVx6, SCHH3, IPO3, ZVV3 is a proving sire of many top level sport dogs & police dogs as is Erri.

I hope Aceofnike can meet these same goals too in the near future, it'll be nice to see more well accomplished GSD's out there. If does seem like he is well on his way in doing so.

In the USA we are always going to struggle with proving progeny.  Not enough people interested in dog sport. Bottom line. This is not going to change anytime soon. So all we have to work with is accomplishments unless you want to send your bitch to europe.  I do not own Nike.  And as far as money spent. I can tell you that the owner of Nike drives truck for a living, and lives in a modest home. Schutzhund is just fun for Charlie. Dogs just a hobby. It is not his fault that he kicks everybody's butt. Don you should trade that bong for a nice cold beer.  Maybe the same brain damage, but at least you won't go to jail. And yes Aceofnike van het Bleekhof has accomplished more than Mike's Dog.  Don't get me wrong, I like Mike's dog and think he is a great trainer.  But the fact is Aceofnike accomplished more. And in the USA all we have to work with is accomplishments.
