This thread should actually be on the general topics side of the forum as that is for all topics on dogs, this is the GERMAN SHEPHERD  discussion forum. Maybe Oli could add an Alsatian breed forum for those interested in that breed.

When you said this was your last comment did you mean your third last. Just because no one made an official complaint does not mean it did not happen and you know it. Any way complain to who? The KENNEL CLUB in the uk??? You must be joking!!! Any more "last comments"??

Bazza,it may be me that nina is referring to,but not sure,as i did make a comment in 1 of my earlier postings...THATS MY LAST COMMENT ON THE SUBJECT and i have been on since.

Linedancer when you say, ‘i for one will NOT and will NEVER use a German bred dog’, nothing could demonstrate more clearly that you are in the wrong breed of dog. If you make statements like that then not having a pat on the back is the least of your problems. Everyone else here knows we are talking about the German Shepherd Dog and that the home of the breed is Germany. Get your head around it. You seem to be talking about a totally different breed to which only you and people who think like you hold the key. It is a ludicrous position.

nina, why then did yu say in one of your previous posts that you did like some german dogs?why not use one of the ones that yu do like, research the pedigrees as everyone else has to do.if yu like i will advise as to the animal in question.

Correct me if I am wrong but some 25 years ago Mr Roy Brandon used  CH Lauser vom Hasenborn ( German Import) owned at the time by the Bedwins Kennels. I think the female missed . It is a shame that some one can talk about the use of a dog with regards to whether it is German or English without any knowledge of the dog in question. Surely the overall dog in type and conformation plus it`s breeding would come before one decided on a partner for their female and if they found everything to their satisfaction it`s place of birth would be immaterial. Over the years I have come across quite a few people who have said they would never use German dogs only to notice that at some time in the future they have changed their minds and in many case`s have improved the type they previously bred.

member.quite correct.isnt that what we are striving to acheive.an improvement on the parents. i try to see the animal in question and if i cant then i read all the critiques i can find on the male and his progeny to see if he can improve on the points i need to improve on my female.a lot from the english side have taken this step in the right direction but the alsatianists have not or are afraid to for ridicule by the others,on their side.come on folksTAKE THAT STEP.

No the bitch  did'nt miss. I can asure you i will  never use a German Bred Stud Dog  .There are some very nice dogs out there but like i have said before i do not know enough about their bloodlines ,so right or wrong  in any body eleses  eyes i will stay with what i have  i really don't have a problem with that  but some other members do.I do not ask them to change  what they believe to be true and correct so please  leave me to what i think is best for me and my GERMAN SHEPHERDS

ALSATIANS!! Maybe Linedancer, with her vast knowledge, could give us a few examples of Alsation studs that might improve our GERMAN SHEPHERDS she finds so incorrect?  Or was your last comment really your last? I know many many people, including myself, who started out with Alsatians and moved over to the correct GERMAN SHEPHERD, i do not know one who ever went back to ALSATIANS. It is actually beyond me how anyone can say the Alsatian is the correct dog, when it is only recognised in this country, are you trying to tell us that the small group in this country are right and the rest of the world is wrong. Surely you do not honestly believe that????
